Pirelli – Pirelli presented the new Diablo Rosso III at the Spanish MotorLand Aragón circuit, a supersport tire from the Diablo family which takes the performance offered by a tire on the road to a new level. Designed and developed according to the latest generation of powerful road motorcycles characterized by important technological features and electronic assistance systems, Diablo Rosso III is a tire born from the track for the road because it takes advantage of all the research and know-how acquired by Pirelli in the FIM Superbike World Championship.

Diablo Rosso III features new profiles, latest generation materials, an innovative structure, new compounds and a tread design that is derived directly from that of the Diablo Supercorsa. Pirelli engineers considered it important to maintain the carving with the typical and distinctive "lightning bolt" design on the tread as it is a recognized expression of sportiness and aggressiveness. The set of grooves represents the best possible solution to obtain compactness of the tread band, a good full/void balance, and excellent water drainage at the same time. The orientation of the notches follows the wear waves orthogonally, interrupting the forces that cause it, in favor of more homogeneous wear and a reduction in the stress to which the compound is subjected. The orientation is also effective from the point of view of water evacuation which makes the Diablo Rosso III an extremely safe and high-performance tire even on wet surfaces.

Pirelli has developed innovative compounds with a high percentage of silica combined with latest generation oils, resins and polymers, improving the cohesion of the elements so as to achieve an unprecedented level of homogeneity. The rear tire is dual-compound with a wide side band of high-grip compound and a central band that guarantees mileage. Specifically, the profile is divided into a proportion of 40-20-40 where the lateral compound, which is more performing, covers a total of 80% of the entire tread while the remaining 20% in the central section is made up of a functional stability compound. and mileage. The lateral compound that guarantees grip comes into play as soon as the lean phase begins, guaranteeing excellent grip and offering the motorcyclist great confidence when descending into the lean. The same compound that in the lateral bands is present only in the substrate emerges in the central part, covering a width of approximately 45 millimeters of the tread. This compound also has a high percentage of silica (although less than 100%) and has the aim of ensuring stability at high speeds together with a reference mileage for the supersport tire segment. The front tire is a single compound with a silica content of 100%. The front profile is characterized by a multi-radius development which improves handling, offering the motorcyclist an immediate descent into bends and at the same time facilitating rapid changes of direction. The rear tire follows the same pattern and a similar geometry to that of the front, thus ensuring perfectly balanced and synchronized behavior of the set. The radial carcass of the new Diablo Rosso III is very rigid to support the profile and allow the compound to penetrate the asphalt.
