Moto Morini | The sale to the Chinese Zhongneng group has been announced

In 2015 the Autjann holding, owned by the Jannuzzelli family, announced its entry into Moto Morini with the aim of saving the brand.

Since then many things have changed, the historic Italian brand has grown, compared to the difficult situation from which it came, and has given birth to new models such as: the Corsaro or the Scrambler.

Three years later, however, the Jannuzzelli family's adventure comes to an end. In a short press release, the representative of the shareholder and outgoing President of Moto Morini, Ruggeromassimo Jannuzzelli, announced the complete transfer of the share capital to Zhongneng Vehicle Group, a Chinese giant already present in the European market.

According to some sources, the value of the sale is around 10 million euros.

“After my family, through Autjann, became the owner of 2015% of the company's capital in 100 in conjunction with the logistical debut of the Moto Morini company in the province of Pavia on the outskirts of Milan, a path of development of the motorcycle for the adaptation to the Euro4 regulation, immediately after the creation of new models adapted to the current market; from which the Corsaro ZZ, the Corsaro ZT, the Milano and the new Scrambler were born.” Says Ruggeromassimo Jannuzzelli, outgoing President of Moto Morini, who then adds: “In addition to this activity, for three years we have worked on creating value for the brand and products to bring them to the high end of the market in terms of quality, construction methods and prestige. Now we reap the fruits of this work, leaving the baton to a private Chinese industrial group that is already present with its products in Europe and around the world."

The outgoing President, in the short note released, is keen to point out that the new owner was chosen based on the promise of growth and maintenance of the entire plant in the area: “Dr Chen, President of Zhongneng Vehicle Group, has big plans to increase the company's activity which will remain on Italian territory. Projects that concern both current products and new models, even with different engine sizes. We are certain to entrust Moto Morini, its employees, its suppliers and its loyal customers to an important industrial reality that will make the company grow well.”
