New BMW S 1000 XR – After the S 1000RR and the HP4, as well as after the S 1000 R Roadster, BMW Motorrad now unveils the fourth member of its high-performance motorcycle range with distinctly sporty four-cylinder inline engines. In fact, the BMW S 1000

Il four-cylinder in-line engine of the new BMW S 1000 XR, essentially, it derives from that of the S 1000 R roadster, with a power of 118 kW (160 HP) at 11.000 rpm and a maximum torque of 112 Nm generated at 9.250 rpm. This engine produces excellent torque which makes it ideal for providing good response even at low and medium revs, which drivers look for when traveling along country roads or when carrying a passenger. The new BMW S 1000 XR offers a driving mode ASC as standard, as well as the possibility of using the Pro mode, which also includes Dynamic Traction Control (DTC) and ABS Pro. To adapt the driving characteristics to the road conditions as effectively as possible, the new BMW S 1000 XR is supplied, as standard, with the “Road” and “Rain” driving modes. Furthermore, Automatic Stability Control (ASC) guarantees a high level of driving safety, thanks to the optimization of traction.

The chassis of the new one BMW S 1000 XR it has a double beam in light alloy with the engine-gearbox group having a load-bearing function. The front and rear wheel suspensions are respectively an upside down fork and a double wishbone with an adjustable central monoshock. For those who want, importantly, they are available as optional extras BMW Motorrad Dynamic ESA electronic suspension (Electronic Suspension Adjustment), which inaugurate a new dimension of driving safety, performance and comfort. Very significant in terms of safety it is the adoption of ABS Pro, part of the “Pro Mode” option, which guarantees greater safety when braking in a bent position. Furthermore, even when the brakes are activated unexpectedly, ABS Pro prevents the wheels from locking, reducing sudden changes in steering force, and thus lifting the motorcycle, for example in the event of emergency braking.
