BMW Motorrad Navigator Street – With the new road navigator, BMW Motorrad offers an economical entry-level navigation system for BMW motorcycles without a navigator preparation option. The new road navigator will complement the current BMW Motorrad Navigator, which will remain part of the product range.

The Navigator Street offers a large, bright 4,3" touchscreen that can be operated reliably even with gloves and is well readable in direct sunlight. The Bluetooth GPS navigation system is able to transmit navigation instructions directly to the helmet and allows the rider to make outgoing calls and accept incoming calls while driving using the hands-free function. For example, the pilot can call a POI (Point of Interest) directly (only in combination with the communication system). The BMW Motorrad Navigator Street is supplied with pre-installed maps of Europe or North America and, in addition, updates can be obtained for free, with the pilot being able to plan his routes individually and conveniently on a PC using the planner BaseCamp. The Street Navigator has a capacity of 8 GB which can be expanded using an additional SD card slot. The Trip Technology implemented in the road navigator with Via and Shaping Points for planning and destination guidance allows the rider to plan long and detailed motorbike tours. Shaping Points are used to set the route, without being announced as intermediate destinations, during navigation. Between the 2 intermediate points it is possible to set 150 Shaping Points, while with the “Winding Road” option, the Navigator calculates the route with multiple curves.

The new BMW Motorrad Navigator Street is also equipped with a compass and speed limit display on most roads. Motorcycle tours can be recorded and broadcast for free using Garmin Adventures (supported by BaseCamp), which also allows users to rate routes, read reviews and routes downloaded and created by other riders. The BMW Motorrad Navigator Street has been designed to fit all known motorcycles with BMW Motorrad specifications and equipped with a 12 V cable. However, the system uses an integrated lithium-ion battery. The battery is charged by the electrical system while driving and via mini USB from the computer or optional charging device when we are not riding.
