Honda – Honda has used all its energy to resume production as quickly as possible at the Kumamoto factory in Japan, which was seriously damaged following the violent earthquake that hit the area last April.

The goal of restoring the plant in the second half of August has been achieved and Honda is now ready to resume production at the plant. Following the earthquake, production was suspended on the night of April 14th. After careful verification of the damage suffered, the company immediately set to work to reorganize the activity and on May 6th the production of spare parts to be subsequently exported was resumed. On May 13th, assembly operations for Power Equipment products were resumed.

As regards the motorcycle production lines, the most affected, the plant was able to resume the assembly of the main models, although not at full capacity, as early as June 6th, subsequently the volumes were progressively increased. Now the "fun line", the production line that includes the larger displacement models (including the CRF1000L Africa Twin), is ready to restart. The result of all this effort is that the entire production of the Kumamoto Plant was normalized on August 22, 2016.

Honda will continue to put every effort into the complete recovery of all sectors affected by the earthquake and will make every effort to ensure that products can be delivered to customers in a timely manner.
