BMW R 1200 RS, will arrive in May at a price of 14.650 euros

BMW R 1200 RS – The new BMW R 1200 RS will be in official BMW Motorrad dealers starting from 16 May 2015. This sports Tourer with a twin-cylinder boxer engine continues the tradition of travel and sportiness of the RS Series models.

The robust and powerful boxer engine of the new R 1200 RS corresponds to the DOHC engine already fitted in the R 1200 GS, the R 1200 GS Adventure, as well as the R 1200 RT and the new R 1200 R. The unit delivers 92 kW (125 hp) at 7.750 rpm and develops a maximum torque of 125 Nm at 6.500 rpm

The new boxer twin model required close collaboration between the development sector BMW Motorrad in Munich and the production sector in Berlin, the only plant of the propeller brand where the motorcycles are produced. “We are proud to start series production of the new model successfully and on time“, he said at the beginning of production Robert Venus, project Manager. “With the R 1200 RS we are strengthening the traditional BMW Sports Tourer segment.
