BMW Motorrad Italy – Nice initiative that links the world of motorbikes and that of solidarity. BMW Motorrad Italia, in fact, has decided to organize together with the Onlus Di.Di Differently Disabled di Emiliano Malagoli, the "bionic centaur", a great lover of two wheels despite the very serious road accident that caused the amputation of his leg, a truly special day.

Thanks to the collaboration between BMW Motorrad Italia and the non-profit organization Di.Di.Diversamente Disabili, which has lasted for over two years, it has been possible to create motorbike riding courses for the disabled organized by the non-profit organization with the BMW F 800 R equipped with a special adaptation. The initiative had results that went beyond the organizers' expectations: around 240 kids got on motorbikes and over 50 special AS licenses were issued to as many members of the non-profit organization. Furthermore, on the track with the Althea BMW Racing Team, Emiliano Malagoli achieved numerous goals aboard his BMW S 1000 RR, adapted for the occasion, including winning the Di.Di trophy. Bridgestone Cup 2017, an excellent second place at the International Bridgestone Handy Race of Le Mans (MotoGP 2018) and the bronze medal at the International Bridgestone Handy Race of Le Mans (MotoGP 2017). Together with Alex Zanardi, Emiliano Malagoli is also testimonial of SciAbile, a project born in 2003 from the collaboration between the BMW Group Italia and the Sauze d'Oulx Project Ski School, which this year has crossed the symbolic milestone of 15 years, confirms to be one of the pillars of BMW Italia's Corporate and Social Responsibility strategy, SpecialMente.

What is the Di.Di Differently Disabled Onlus

The non-profit organization Di.Di Differently Disables was founded with the aim of promoting sporting activity among young disabled people, seeing it as an excellent tool for recovery and social inclusion through. Among the various activities organized there are a driving school with adapted motorbikes and instructors with the same disability as the students, the creation of a team of "special" riders and the creation of the first championship in the world, national (Octo Bridgestone Cup) and international ( International Bridgestone Handy Race and Dream World Bridgestone Cup) dedicated to disabled riders which has also debuted in some stages of MotoGP and WorldSBK since 2017.
