Announced by Yamaha MotorEurope the new Yamaha Ténéré World Raid Team who will take part inAfrica Eco Race scheduled 15 from October to 30 between Monaco and the evocative finish line of Dakar, Senegal. A new sporting adventure on the routes of the legendary African marathon.

A team of champions

The training will be managed on behalf of Yamaha by Rebel X Sports, under the direction of Team Manager and Rally Raid expert, Manuel Lucchese. The lineup includes the legendary Alessandro Botturi, winner in the two previous editions of the event and former international Six Day Trial champion in 2005 and 2007, as well as a veteran of the Dakar; supported on the occasion by the acrobatic Pol Tarres. The motorbike is one competition version of Yamaha Ténéré 700 World Raid, a recently launched model.

This is a new arduous challenge riding models based on the Ténéré 700 World Raid, further developed by Yamaha with specific components GYTR extension, including KYB suspension and a larger fuel tank.
The training will prepare for the appointment by participating in the Tunisian Desert Challenge from 21 to 29 April, another challenge consisting of eight stages for over 2.700 km.

Experience and tradition

On African soil Yamaha has already been a protagonist on other occasions, starting with 1979 with the success of Cyril Neveu in the first edition of the Paris Dakar. Participation in the Africa Eco Race evokes that commitment and history, connecting Yamaha's Rally program to the adventurous spirit of the competition.
Tackle an African rally of 12 stages it is also significant for highlighting the DNA of the new Ténéré World Raid and for preparing a program for customers, ranging from national activities to the most challenging international Rally Raid.

The Rally program also highlights a partnership with Riders for Health, a special reality that Yamaha is proud to host in the Ténéré World Raid Team to raise awareness of the work carried out by the humanitarian association which proposes, manages and maintains motorcycles for health-related activities in Africa, as mentioned.
