With more powerful and liquid-cooled engine for the first time

Larger and more powerful engine

One of the main innovations is the increase in the displacement of the engine, the result of a completely new project. The new engine, which is still a single-cylinder, cit increases by 41 cc reaching 451,65 cc, benefiting from the liquid cooling, first time ever on a Royal Enfield. The engine power it develops also increases by 16 HP 40 CV and 40 Nm of maximum torque, combined with the new 6-speed gearbox, which replaces the previous 5-speed gearbox, guaranteeing greater efficiency in fuel consumption with the new Himalayan which, according to what was declared by the Indian company, has a consumption of 3,59 liters every 100 kilometers.

Ready for all off-road challenges

The new Himalayan 450 makes its debut on theRide By Wire accelerator which leads to the introduction of two engine maps. In terms of chassis, the bike has a completely redesigned steel frame, 43 mm Showa upside-down fork and preload-adjustable rear monoshock. The front and rear suspensions have a travel of 200 mm, ensuring the ability to tackle rough terrain. 

More comfort and modernized instrumentation

The Indian manufacturer also intervened on the driving position, developing one for a new Himalayan longer and less sunken saddle, to the benefit of rider and passenger comfort. The equipment includes 21-inch spoked wheels at the front and 17-inch at the rear with knobby tyres.

In addition to the equipment enriched by full LED lights, including the direction indicators, the instrumentation on the new Himalayan has also been renewed where now, instead of the pointer tachometer and digital tripper, we find a Circular color TFT display which allows you to connect your smartphone via Bluetooth thus providing "turb by turn" navigation with Google Maps. 

The Him-E electric prototype

In the Royal Enfield stand at EICMA there is also the Him-E, ie a electric prototype of the Himalayan characterized by the presence of an electric motor and battery pack housed in the frame.
