Pirelli is the Official Tire Supplier for all classes of MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship even in the seasons 2021, 2022 e 2023, the year in which the achievement of a twenty-year monogamous formula will be celebrated. The Milanese reality, in agreement with Dorna WSBK Organization (DWO), promoter and organizer of the World Championship and with the International Motorcycling Federation (FIM), had reported last year the extension for a further three seasons of the supply agreement, which expired at the end of 2020.

Pirelli is a company involved in global motorsport, considering not only this new continuation of the supply in the Superbike World Championship, but also the presence as Exclusive Tire Supplier for the FIA ​​Formula One World Championship®, as well as in the World Rally Championship and in the FIM World Championship Motocross with 74 world titles under his belt. Pirelli has made its single tire formula appreciated in other national disciplines, citing the British Superbike Championship in the United Kingdom with an announced renewal of the supply until 2025 and also in the Italian Speed ​​Championship (CIV).

A long-lasting partnership in World Superbike

From 2004 the tire manufacturer has proposed on the various tracks of the Superbike series over one million racing tyres, developing 750 new solutions during the contractual collaboration period. Within these seventeen years old as Official Tire Supplier, the MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship was a valuable testing ground for Pirelli, being able to develop products to support riders and motorcyclists around the world. Throughout these seventeen years, the Milanese brand has been engaged in 19 Countries and 29 tracks different, totaling 432 races in the world class.
The development work is also noteworthy, considering that the racing tires have covered over two million kilometers of races overall, even subjected to extreme temperatures, ranging from 0°C in Assen in 2019 to 60°C in other different situations.
As mentioned, the technical collaboration between Pirelli, promoters, teams and protagonists of the MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship has continued since 2004, making it the longest-running single tire ever on an international level. A formula that allows the different protagonists on the track to have the same covers and therefore compete thanks to a similar and fair supply, supported by constant research and development work, amplifying the level of competitiveness throughout the seasons.

A further consolidation of the relationship between Pirelli and Dorna WSBK Organization (DWO), useful for the same series, bearing in mind that in 2020 the WorldSBK World Championship achieved an average television audience increase per Round of +6% compared to the previous season. In 2021 the program is enriched with a double race format also for the WorldSSP and WorldSSP300 series. The tire format established in 2020 has also been confirmed, an exclusive supply of slick tires from the DIABLO™ Superbike range to the four classes of the Championship for series derivatives. Then, in addition to the WorldSBK, WorldSSP and WorldSSP300 classes, Pirelli will also be Sole Tire Supplier for the newly created Yamaha R3 bLU cRU European Cup, as reported.
