Suzuki GSX-S950: the new street-fighter in two configurations [PHOTO]

Euro 5 engine of 70 or 35 kW

The new one presented as a world premiere Suzuki GSX-S950, a street-fighter characterized by a distinctive style reminiscent of the new GSX-S1000 and a high-level technical package derived from the work done on the GSX-R and developed for purely road use. The Euro 5 engine is offered in configurations from 70 kW o 35 kW.

The motorcycle

The design is distinctive, sculpted and at the same time sporty. A line projected towards the front area and streamlined at the same time with a distinctive and connected front part which presents an optical group made up of LED overlapping, a central part where the mechanics and propulsive heart stand out and in the terminal area an equally compact and streamlined tail.
Among the connotative elements, the tank it can contain also stands out 19 liters and compact and slim hips that favor an optimized position. A posture delineated by the presence of a wide handlebar, placed relatively close to the seat (located at 810 millimeters from the ground) with a functional support in the rear area.
The motorbike can be ordered in Blue color or in the combination glossy and matt Black. Both variants are characterized by a forged carbon look finish with a textured pattern. The model can also be customized by evaluating the overview of 29 matching original accessories. Aesthetic, technical and functional options also for safety. We mention tank bags of different sizes and sliders, front and rear mudguards in carbon, a material also used for other sports details, therefore also brake and clutch levers machined from solid anodized aluminum with the GSX-S logo.

Technique and technology

The frame is a double beam in aluminum with associated steering head and swingarm pivot in aluminum alloy, derived from the GSX-R1000. Through a linkage it operates on a shock absorber with spring preload and hydraulic brake in extension. The suspension department includes a KYB upside down fork 43 mm with metallic finish for the sheaths, as indicated.
The braking system, supported by a latest generation ABS unit, includes Tokico monobloc radially mounted front calipers with four pistons that act on floating discs of 310 mm.
The chassis calibration is optimized for the use of Dunlop Roadsport 2 radial tires, developed to support the dynamism of the GSX-S950.
The model is also equipped with various electronic systems integrated into the Suzuki Intelligent Ride System (SIRS). Mentioned: an electronic accelerator ride-by-wire connected to an electronic control unit to control the movements of the butterfly valves; a sistem “Partifacile” – Low RPM Assist which increases the number of revolutions when the clutch lever is released when starting from a standstill or when moving at reduced speed, thus avoiding engine damping; a Suzuki Easy Start System which allows the engine to be started with a quick press of the “Start” button; therefore a system “Aprisereno” – Suzuki Traction Control System (STCS) function for safety for a variety of situations and driving styles, with a 3-level, deactivable electronic traction control.

Thruster

The four-cylinder in-line power unit from 999 cc, Euro 5, is offered in two configurations. The transmission department includes an advanced Suzuki Clutch Assist System (SCAS) with slipper clutch assistance function.
A first configuration reaches 70 kW, Namely 95 cavalry of power at 7.800 rpm and a peak of torque of 92 Nm at 6.500 rpm. The second, designed for A2 license holders, transmits 35 kW that match 47,5 horses of maximum power at 6.100 rpm and a maximum torque of 76 Nm at 3.250 rpm.
