The engine
The heart of Zip SP is a jewel of technology: it's about the motorization Hi-Per 2, a 50 cc 2-stroke with two-way catalysis supported by a secondary air system (SAS), respectful of the most stringent anti-pollution standards which, in this very sporty version liquid cooled, ensures absolute power qualities.
This engine is in fact designed to equip the "super sport" vehicles of the Piaggio range and guarantees performance, in terms of acceleration, at the top of what is available on the market.
Performance also achieved thanks to the adoption of new more advanced intake and exhaust diagrams so as to obtain better thermodynamic performance and thanks to the adoption of the new "snakebite" upside-down muffler.
The powerful 50 cc is equipped with electric start – and emergency kick starter – and continuously variable transmission (CVT). Naturally, the ZIP SP has an automatic oil-petrol mixer.
CYCLING
The chassis is designed to support the aggressive nature of the Zip SP in all conditions and, combined with the lightness of the vehicle, allows for the best exploitation of the engine's characteristics.
The chassis layout, designed to withstand the performance and stresses of the track, consists of a high-strength steel monotube, further strengthened da elements in pressed sheet metal. A structure designed and built with the objective of superior flexural and torsional rigidity, capable of accommodating the power of the engine Hi-Per 2 and guarantee absolute precision even in sports driving.
The other elements of the chassis have also been designed to enhance the exceptional qualities of the frame.
