KTM 890 Adventure 2023: a look dedicated to the new example [VIDEO]

The new KTM 890 Adventure is the protagonist in the new episode of the series “100% BIRCHY APPROVED” proposed by KTM on Youtube.

The new model

Chris Birch talks and describes the new one KTM 890 Adventure, a motorbike created to explore multiple types of routes, also keeping in mind handling and comfort.
It is equipped with new graphics that underline a bolder image, made with the "in-mold" injection process which makes them more resistant. Compared to the previous example, the front area now seems connected to the tank and the result recalls the competition KTM 450 Rally Replica. It has a higher windshield than that of the R version, furthermore the superstructures close to the tank are 20 liters and the tail have a greater extension, so as to protect the rider from air flows and protect the saddle from any accidental contact with the ground when traveling off-road.
The front mudguard is new, designed to expel a greater quantity of water or mud and the forged aluminum fairing attachments are reinforced for greater solidity, so that larger GPS devices can be placed on the instrumentation turret. The motorcycle is equipped with a new 5 inch TFT screen, features a USB-C connector and anti-glare bonded mineral glass to better resist scratches.
The backlight changes intensity while driving based on the ambient light, so a refined synchronization between the screen and the KTMconnect app allows Turn-by-Turn Plus navigation (with the possibility of choosing your favorite destination among the latest destinations) and interaction with other functions. A new one allows you to set a list of 10 telephone numbers or find the last 10 numbers called.
The saddle is developed in two parts, characterized by a different shape in the tank area and a new padding that makes it welcoming. The pilot's part is adjustable in two positions a 840 e 860 millimeters, the height can also be kept to 800 mm with an optional thinner seat and a suspension lowering kit, both present in the KTM PowerParts catalogue. In the KTM accessories catalog there are also saddles for riders of greater or lesser height, such as one-piece Rally style saddles. In particular, we remember the 850 mm or 830 mm heated Ergo saddles, also heated for the passenger, as well as the 865 mm or 825 mm Rally saddles.
The model also features renewed aluminum engine and tank protection, as well as a new handlebar block which includes the emergency button and uses Pirelli Scorpion STR tyres.

Technical and technological aspects

The new KTM 890 Adventure it is equipped with a 43 mm WP APEX fork equipped with practical adjusters for adjusting the hydraulics in compression and rebound, while the APEX monoshock includes a new knob for preload adjustment and new settings designed to promote comfort and respond to different necessities during journeys.
The engine is a heart 8 cc LC899c parallel twin, power is managed through a ride-by-wire control and Street, Offroad and Rain riding modes are also highlighted, together with the optional Rally mode.
There is also a new 9.3 MP ABS modulator, associated with the 6D inertial platform with constant data on pitch, inclination, speed and overall behavior of the vehicle. Refined ABS, automatically adapting to the selected driving mode. If you choose Offroad or Rally mode, the ABS will automatically adopt ABS Offroad mode, based on the indications. The power touches i 105 horses and the couple i 100 Nm.
Another interesting novelty is the choice of software available in the KTM PowerParts catalogue, in particular the DEMO riding mode with the possibility of trying all the riding modes and options in the first 1.500 kilometres, and then deciding on the purchase of a package or individual options , as reported.
