Different aspects of BMW M 1000 XR prototype are highlighted in the video proposed by BMW Motorrad, on Youtube.

Indications

Speaking of the engine, mention has already been made of a low-weight in-line four-cylinder with a BMW ShiftCam technology. The basis is the BMW S 1000 RR engine with BMW ShiftCam technology focused on timing variation. On this occasion, a power of 200 horses, keeping in mind a DIN curb weight of 223 kg fully loaded.
With an M Competition package, optional ex works, further weight reduction and greater driving dynamics are expected, according to the indications transmitted. The maximum speed that the BMW M 1000 XR prototype can reach is approximately 280 km/h.
Among the characterized parts are highlighted M winglets, observing the faired area. Functional offshoots for stability and grip especially during acceleration and gear progression. The additional load on the front wheel counteracts the tendency to surge during acceleration, which represents a benefit for performance. The same position on the saddle is specifically oriented towards the front wheel, with control in mind.
Among the solutions we also highlight a M braking system with radial brake master cylinder for optimal performance. Thinking of the other M 1000 RR and M 1000 R models, also in this case an M braking system is expected, created thanks to the experience acquired with the systems used on racing motorbikes in the Superbike World Championship. The M brake calipers are characterized by a blue anodized coating and M logo.
In the year in which the centenary of BMW Motorrad is celebrated, this prototype anticipates something new, a third M two-wheeled example that falls into the Touring segment with a sporty character.
Learn more about the new BMW M1000 XR are expected in the second half of the year.
