Confindustria ANCMA go back to the provisions of ddl Competition and in particular on the extension of the mechanism of CARD, the Agreement between Insurers for Direct Compensation. After underlining the distorting effects on motorcycle policies due to the rigidity of the lump sum reimbursement mechanism on which the CARD is based, the National Cycle and Motorcycle Accessories Association, in the event that article 27 of the Competition bill were to remain unchanged, provided a prospectus also on possible tariff increases.

The note

During an audition in Industry Committee in the Senate, an analysis was presented according to which the price of a CARD motorcycle policy is on average 84% higher than a "no CARD" policy taken out for the same vehicle. The lack of foreign companies on the Italian market would not only limit competition, but could widen the gap between the North of the country and the South, where the costs of insuring a motorcycle are already around 68% higher today, as reported.
“Effects that – as indicated by ANCMA – they evidently move against the very principles of the provision and affect a growing market and a supply chain which in Italy is worth over 21 billion euros and offers employment to more than 380 thousand people".
Without a proposal “no CARD”, in some southern provinces there could be significant price increases, with the possible risk of circumvention of the insurance obligation, as reported again.
