Dirt bikes: ANCMA warns enthusiasts about suspicious discounts
Against the marketing of motorcycles of illicit origin
Confindustria ANCMA (National Association of Cycle and Motorcycle Accessories) brings attention to the issue of the trade of dirt bikes of illicit origin.
A message to fans
Through a press release also signed by GASGAS, Honda RedMoto, Husqvarna Motorcycles, KTM, Kawasaki e Yamaha ; ANCMA highlights a fraudulent mechanism that would be present behind easy-saving offers made by some sellers, essentially, according to what has been reported, triangulations carried out by unscrupulous operators to evade VAT by circumventing European legislation. An illicit system which, just a year ago, led to the arrest and conviction of three individuals after an investigation carried out by the Financial Police.
The message addressed on the occasion aims to inform in particular about the risks and judicial consequences linked to the purchase of motorcycles within unclear and criminal systems, which fuel tax fraud and unfair competition. The ANCMA therefore invites enthusiasts of motorcycles with knobby wheels to contact only the network of official dealers in the area.
After the launch of an awareness campaign in 2021, the association still urges enthusiasts to pay attention when faced with suspicious and disproportionate discounts, particular offers promoted on the web or new vehicles offered below cost.
