Yamaha T-MAX 2022

The new example is distinguishable by the redesigned bodywork, the bold front with air intakes and aerodynamic wings, equipped with a double headlight LED with integrated directional indicators. Together with the redefined front, a new adjustable windscreen stands out which completes the aesthetics and promotes comfort, considering a central air intake designed to reduce the pressure of the wind on the upper part of the driver's body and which also contributes to the attenuation of noise of the wind and to intensify the acoustics of the model. Also characteristic is the slim central section which facilitates mobility in the saddle. Finally, the terminal part appears more streamlined and characterized by a LED light with a T-shaped design. Also highlighted among the aesthetic elements are the new boomerangs and the reconfigured panels on the rear of the shield.
The sporty character of the new TMAX is also underlined by the new 10-spoke wheels, developed with exclusive technology Yamaha Spin Forged which allows you to create wheels with rather thin sections, whilst maintaining the same resistance. These are light wheels to contain the unsprung weight, furthermore the inertial moment is reduced by approximately 10% in the front part and 6% in the rear area, as reported.

Technological contents

The new Yamaha TMAX it is an advanced scooter with cutting-edge technology. The newly defined "twin-eye" LED headlights feature single vision lenses that offer a brilliant beam. The design is sporty and compact with integrated turn signals, as mentioned. Also connotative is the T-shaped design in the rear area, also already mentioned, with integrated directional indicators.
The model is equipped with a screen TFT da 7 inches in color and you can select one of three information display styles. In the centre, the digital speedometer stands out, in the case of the Sporty style you can see a radial block rev counter, by opting for the Intelligent style you can see a needle speedometer with a dynamic display, then in the Authentic style there is a more classic needle rev counter.
You can connect your smartphone to the display via Bluetooth, Wi-Fi or the USB port in the waterproof front storage compartment. Once the device is connected you can use the joystick on the left handlebar. To listen to music or answer calls you need earphones (not supplied) connected via Bluetooth, while messages can be read when the TMAX is parked.
With a connection via Bluetooth you can access full-map Garmin navigation, with turn-by-turn voice instructions, listened to through earphones. Garmin map navigation requires a subscription service contract and is not available in all countries.
One of the solutions for 2022 was also mentioned Smart Key with simplified operations to turn on and off the main power, activate the handlebar steering lock switch and open the saddle. Furthermore, the new TMAX is the first example equipped with an aeronautical-style fuel cap, which opens automatically within two minutes of turning off the main switch for refueling operations. The fuel cap is accessible at any time by carrying the Smart Key with you. There is also an alarm that warns you if the fuel cap has not been closed correctly.
An advanced technology is then highlighted “ride-by-wire” with a new throttle position sensor (APSG) and the proven accelerator Yamaha Chip Controlled Throttle (YCC-T). The new APSG sensor replaces the traditional cable and pulley system, features a magnet and sensor that detects throttle inputs and transmits data to the YCC-T.
On this occasion, a selection of accessories and clothing is also indicated.

Technology

The driving position has been redefined, taking into account an aluminum frame and a compliant engine Euro 5 da 560 cc. The triangulation has been modified to favor a slightly more inclined position towards the front area, inserting a new forged handlebar in exposed aluminium, a new longer saddle with an adjustable backrest with a longitudinal movement of 30 mm and larger footrests.
The slimmer and narrower central section in the thigh area facilitates the movement of the driver's legs when restarting and the footrests for the passenger have also been relocated.
The vehicle is equipped with a 41 mm upside-down fork and a rear monoshock. The suspension settings are changed, facilitating greater sensitivity in the front area and agility, according to the indications, based on greater damping force. It is also highlighted by the use of specific Bridgestone Battlax SC2 tyres, designed taking into account the modifications to the suspension part and the exclusive rims defined with SpinForged technology. The curb weight is 218 kg.

Motor

The engine is parallel twin 560 cc with horizontal reciprocating piston. Solution that eliminates vibrations without the need for a traditional rotating balancer, reducing the height of the engine and creating space for a larger load compartment under the seat, as indicated. The power reaches 35 kWIt can therefore be driven with an A2 licence.
Another feature is the sound, a connotative aspect of the TMAX given a deep tone that suggests a sensation of power at low revs, therefore more intense during acceleration.
