Everything is ready for the sixth edition of the great Ducati gathering, the World Ducati Week 2010, which will take place from Thursday 10 June until Sunday 13 June within the “Misano World Circuit” in Misano Adriatico. The absolute protagonists will be the track, the official Ducati riders, the shows and the rich entertainment program prepared for the tens of thousands of fans and enthusiasts who will attend in the coming days. If last edition there were around 50.000, just as many visitors are expected this year and the magical atmosphere of the Romagna Riviera is more than ready to welcome them and involve them in a certainly memorable experience.

Since its inception, WDW has been synonymous with celebration and fun; in addition, this year, for the first time ever in the context of the event, an exciting acceleration race will take place which will see the official Ducati riders (MotoGP and SBK) competing on the track astride powerful Streetfighters, for a moment of unprecedented competitive spirit and fun, made of simple yet exciting ingredients to satisfy the pure desire for entertainment of the many fans.

The entire Romagna Riviera will be on the wave of the Ducati rally, offering a special Red Planet Movida perfectly in tune with the festive atmosphere of the Red Planet, with happy hours dedicated to the rally complete with specially created cocktails. WDW2010 will be welcomed by the Mayor of Misano, who will gather all the Ducatisti in the most classic institutional greeting in Piazza della Repubblica. With his Ducati and together with riders from the Xerox Team he will then open the procession which will cross the seafront to Riccione. The parade will end in Marano di Riccione, in the famous Opéra-Cafè del mare, which will open its doors extraordinarily on Thursday 10 June upon the arrival of the centaurs of the Borgo Panigale manufacturer. A place for events, concerts and artistic performances, “L'Opèra” combines the atmosphere of a work of art with the beach, which will make the evening unforgettable.

The WDW means speed, performance and passion at 360 degrees, but also the possibility of reliving the history of Ducati competitions through the legendary protagonists of the past: therefore, in the varied community of characters who will attend the event in Romagna, the great riders who they made the history of the motorcycle manufacturer. The Ducati tradition has been remembered several times by the great successes achieved by the riders over the course of over sixty years of competition history, and at WDW it will be possible to relive those same emotions, admiring some of them trying their hand, years later, on the same sports bikes that made them famous all over the world. The Historic Drivers' Lap of Honor will take place on Friday shortly after 12pm. Immediately afterwards the garage doors will open for an autograph session with today's SBK Riders. In the early afternoon the strong emotions will continue thanks to expert Stuntmen such as Emilio Zamora riding his 1098, Micha Threin with the Monster 696 and Victor Chelenkov with the Streetfighter who will put on a show in a reckless Stuntmen Show. The show and acrobatics will continue even later, with a super guest: the famous Dutch dragster Jolink. Another highlight on Friday will be the parade on the track of the SBK champions and their bikes, for a Lap of Honour. In the afternoon we will witness a further electrifying scene: thanks to the coordination of the Desmodromic Club of Rome, the long snake of Ducati motorcycles coming from the south will make its triumphal entry onto the Red Planet. Friday evening will end with the show of Freestylers of the caliber of Vanni Oddera, Massimo Bianconcini, Michele Monti and Fabian Bouersax, who will perform in a freestyle motocross show to raise the adrenaline of everyone in attendance.

The track will undoubtedly be the absolute protagonist of this edition too. On Saturday 12 June the Ducati team riders take to the track at WDW to compete in an unprecedented acceleration race on powerful Streetfighters, against each other in direct elimination. Afterwards, the drivers will go up on the big stage of WDW2010 for an official presentation to the fans, to greet everyone and celebrate together. In honor of the great Ducati Red Planet celebration, the Municipality of Misano Adriatico, with the collaboration of the Municipality of Riccione, will offer all participants a convivial barbeque, while they can already enjoy a delicious Rustida. The musical performances of the four Ducati Bands, selected to play in front of the truly unique audience of the gathering, will entertain the participants for the rest of the evening, until the Misano circuit is tinged with fiery red, for a grand finale ensured by an acrobatics show, live fire, pyrotechnic effects, lasers and multimedia, the Red Planet Show.

Sunday 13 June will be the day of the awards: the Vintage Contest will crown the best preserved historic Ducati as Lady of the Red Planet; the Multistrada Roads Photo Contest will see the winner of the photographer who has been able to capture in 4 shots the authentic spirit of the brand new Ducati motorbike, the "4 motorbikes in one", also defined as "the motorbike that wasn't there"; Valerio Staffellli, special guest of WDW2010, will then award the prizes to the best special winners of the Garage Contest competition; the luckiest participant, by drawing among all those who have purchased a 4-DAYS PASS, will be given a new, magnificent Multistrada 1200, via the lottery of the same name; the second draw will win one of the fantastic Multistrada Travel Experience trips. offered by Edelweiss; the third winner will win an exciting Mercedes-AMG Driving Academy safe driving course at the Imola racetrack. A further exciting highlight on Sunday will be the Departure of the Around the World in 80 Club, which will see Paolo Pirozzi, president of the Ducati Dreams Club of Naples, set off on the new Multistrada 1200 S for an incredible tour of the world that will last a year and will touch 80 Ducati Official Clubs spread across the five continents.

For the most demanding at the gathering, the teaching staff of the DUCATI UNIVERSITY, made up of Ducati technicians and managers, will hold original conferences on subjects such as design or mechanics; inside the Misano circuit it will certainly be possible to get on the saddle and test one of the 2010 Ducati Model Years, and much, much more... the carnet is rich and inviting. WDW 2010 will give two-wheel lovers 4 exceptional days and will strengthen their sense of belonging to the Ducati community, whose great capacity for participation and involvement is already known. The site will chronicle the event in real time with spectacular photos, unpublished videos and interviews with the major protagonists of the event, as well as updates from Ducati's Facebook and Twitter accounts. Furthermore, the Ducatisti present at the event will be able to talk about their WDW first hand via Twitter and Flickr, by uploading their photos and publishing their tweets with the tag #wdw2010 they will also contribute to updating the official website.
