Triumph Speed Triple 2011
The Triumph motorcycle manufacturer has released the first images of the new Speed Triple, following the official presentation of the new generation of the British naked bike at the Intermot Show in Cologne, Germany, which opened yesterday. The motorcycle has changed in some details, but essentially remains the iconic two-wheeler, symbol of the English manufacturer throughout the world of two-wheelers.
First of all, the changes focus on the front headlight, still divided into two symmetrical and parallel headlights, now ovalized and slightly more angular than the previous generation. The new Triumph Speed Tripli, therefore, becomes modern thanks to a few tweaks. The double tube frame remains unchanged, but a new tail appears, more articulated and less rounded, and the windshield is still missing, giving it that air of incompleteness and the rough flavor so dear to enthusiasts.
An important new feature for the 2011 Triumph Speed Triple, however, is the torque developed by the three-cylinder engine with 1.050 cubic centimeters of displacement: the value rises up to 111 Nm, delivered at 7.500 rpm. The weight, however, decreases by three kilograms, reaching the value of 214 kilograms. The horsepower, on the contrary, is always the same, 131, delivered at 9.250 rpm.
The entire suspension system is also new, with an adjustable 43 mm Showa front fork and an adjustable rear mono-shock, also Showa. The braking system consists of Brembo calipers at the front and Nissin at the rear. Among the options available, the ABS device and Arrow exhausts. Three colors are offered for the few body parts of the new Triumph Speed Triple 2011: Phantom Black, Diablo Red and Crystal White.
