Approved by Lombardy Regional Council a bill that suggests rule changes established on theuse of electric scooters.

The news

Together with Lazio, the Lombardy region is among the areas where a high number of accidents with electric scooters are recorded. According to the data reported, last year 150 people were seriously injured and in the Lombardy capital since June 2020 there have been 957 accidents for which intervention was requested. Numbers that prompted a further request.
Partially modified in the Commission, the bill proposed to Parliament suggests thecompulsory insurance and the use of helmets even by adults, the necessary CE mark for each vehicle in circulation and the attendance of a qualifying course for minors interested in electric scooters.
The proposal was approved by the Lombardy Regional Council with 40 votes in favour, 11 against by representatives of the 5 Star Movement and +Europa Radicals. Thirteen abstentions from the PD.
The current rules set by the government came into force last November.
