Piaggio Zip 50: the iconic scooter presents a special edition

Il Piaggio Zip it is an iconic model, which evokes important memories for those who are currently in their forties. It was one of the best-selling scooters of the 90s and also of the beginning of 2000, rather simple, but immediately capable of achieving important sales. Now it is celebrated with aspecial edition.

The quality characteristics

The Special Edition is immediately recognizable on an aesthetic level, thanks to a new livery for the Zip. It is in Nero Cosmo Opaco, with some graphics on the sides and wheels in fluorescent green, inspired by street art. The technical part, however, always remains the classic one of this model, with a single cradle steel frame, 10" wheels, hydraulic telescopic fork and, at the rear, a single hydraulic shock absorber. The seat height is adjustable on three levels (750, 765 and 780 mm), while the tank is 6,6 litres.

With regard to the equipment, the Zip 50 Special Edition offers a bag hook under the handlebars, a storage compartment on the back of the central shield and a compartment under the saddle, where a full-face helmet can be inserted. Furthermore, it is possible to add various optional accessories from the Piaggio catalogue.

The engine

The engine is classic 49cc Euro 5 with electronic injection, four strokes and three valves, optimized to reduce consumption. In fact, the Italian brand stated over 40 kilometers per liter.
