Dunlop RoadSmart IV: a new sport-touring tire presented

The new one has been introduced Dunlop RoadSmart IV in the range sport touring. A versatile product given the mix of associated technologies, projected towards new standards relating to dynamism, grip and durability in the varied two-wheeled sport-touring panorama.

The tyre

Dunlop RoadSmart IV comes after the specimen RoadSmart III, a tire that has won various awards, including a “Recommended” rating from the British magazine RIDE (tested in May 2020) and the best mileage result from the Motorrad Test Center in Germany (rated in November 2015). Dunlop's focus on developing compounds that offer maximum mileage and durability continues with the launch of the RoadSmart IV.

The new tire was created to fit 17 of the 20 best-selling motorcycles in Europe, ranging from the BMW R1250 GS to crossovers such as the Yamaha Tracer, but also thinking of roadsters and touring bikes.
In the most common measurements such as 120/70ZR17 front, or 180 / 55ZR17 e 190/55ZR17 rear; Dunlop has defined two distinct versions of the RoadSmart IV. The SP variant is designed for lighter and sportier road bikes, while the GT variant is aimed at bulkier touring bikes.
Taking into account the 21 sizes available, the Dunlop range of RoadSmart tires for sport-touring models including the RoadSmart IV proposal reaches over 40 sizes, which can be fitted by over 700 models representing 97% of the sizes in the sport-touring radial segment, as indicated.
Dunlop RoadSmart IV, in its intention, responds to motorcyclists who are looking for a tire that offers a balance between performance on dry surfaces and grip on wet surfaces, as well as favoring handling and performance consistently and also over the duration of use.

The product is characterized by the most innovative Dunlop technologies, including the JointLess Belt and JointLess Tread solutions, i.e. the latest generation belt and tread that derive from the brand's experience in the world of competitions. In addition to these, among others, the Formula Dynamic Front is mentioned, a balanced symbiosis of tread design, materials and specifications in favor of light and safe handling, therefore a carcass tension control system with various zones that optimize functionality and maximize the footprint.
