Ducati Streetfighter V4: the long-awaited naked unveiled [PHOTO]

The most awaited bike of the 2020 Ducati World Premiere has been unveiled

Al Ducati World Premiere 2020, an event that anticipates EICMA 2019 and where the Bolognese company presents all the innovations, the veils are finally removed from the Street Fighter V4: the naked equipped with the 4-cylinder engine.

In summary we could say that it is the Panigale V4 stripped of the fairings and equipped with high and wide handlebars but there is much more.

Il engine it is 1.103 cm³ which delivers 208 HP (153 kW) at 12.750 rpm. Virtually unchanged compared to Panigale V4 the maximum torque value of 123 Nm (12,5 kgm) at 11.500 rpm. A dedicated engine control map allows you to safely exploit the performance of the Streetfighter V4 when used on the road. The shorter final ratio compared to that of the Panigale V4 gives + 10% more torque to the wheel which ensures an immediate response to accelerator commands. Power and torque can grow further, reaching 220 HP and 130 Nm respectively by fitting the Ducati Performance full-racing exhaust by Akrapovič which also reduces the weight by -6 kg.

The design. The Streetfighter V4 is equipped with a fullLED headlight that recalls the front of the Panigale V4, while Ducati's signature is then represented by the V-shaped DRL that already characterizes the Panigale V4 and SuperSport. On the Streetfighter the "Front Frame" and the Desmosedici Stradale engine are left exposed as much as possible, only partially covered by superstructures reduced to a minimum. The front is low and leans forward, continuing the loaded lines of the tank. As streetfighter culture dictates, the half handlebars are replaced by a high and wide handlebar which, together with a less extreme position of the rider footrests, guarantees a sporty riding position.

Technical details. The engine, combined with a dry weight of 178 kg (of the “S” version), brings the power/weight ratio to a value of 1,17. Everything is kept at bay by the electronics that derive directly from the V4. Furthermore, as in its super sporty sister, here too there are fins that generate 28 kg of weight
“downforce” at 270 km/h, reducing the “floating” of the front wheel at high speeds, the tendency to wheelie and increasing stability during the braking, corner entry and cornering phases

Electronics. The latest generation electronic package of the Streetfighter V4 is based on the use of a 6-axis inertial platform (6D IMU – Inertial Measurement Unit) capable of instantly detecting the motorcycle's roll, yaw and pitch angle in space. The controls manage all phases of driving: some are responsible for starting, accelerating and braking, others supervise traction, still others are related to the phases of cornering and exiting corners.

Lo Street Fighter V4 it is also available in the S version, characterized by Marchesini forged rims and the adoption of suspensions (30 mm NIX43 fork and TTX36 mono) and electronically controlled Öhlins steering damper. These are based on the second generation Öhlins Smart EC 2.0 system which, in addition to exploiting all the potential offered by the 6D IMU, has a more intuitive pilot interface.
