The essence of the new proposal Scrambler® bound to Ducati is represented by the new specimen Icon which, together with Full Throttle e night shift, is part of the evolved generation of a project characterized by a strong youthful and distinctive personality.

The motorcycle

Compared to the more sporty one Scrambler® Full Throttle with dedicated livery Red GP19/Dark Stealth and side number plates or the elegance conveyed by the example Scrambler® Nightshift in tone Nebula Blue with shiny and matt surfaces, as well as references to Cafè Racer models; Scrambler® Icon which, as mentioned, summarizes the Scrambler® essence and is characterized by a new tank, which allows for customisation. The colored portion is a replaceable cover, as are the small headlight covers, fenders and wheel tags.
Other connotative aspects are a lower handlebar and closer to the rider, a redefined saddle with a more tapered shape and black underseat side panels with Scrambler® graphics.
Together with the three standard colors '62 Yellow, Thrilling Black e Ducati Red, they are added six others as accessory kits, in total nine different liveries. Among the interesting colors we also highlight the Jade Green reminiscent of jade, a clear Rio Celeste and an equally distinctive one Velvet Red.

Style and technology

In addition to the colors already mentioned, technological innovations are also relevant factors of this redefined generation, starting from new instrumentation and solutions such as Ride-by-Wire, Riding ModesQuickShift.
The instrument panel consists of one 4,3 inch color TFT screen and dedicated HMI. The accessories also include the Ducati Multimedia System, which allows connection with a mobile device. 
Other technological elements that enhance the aesthetics are the light clusters with a Front DRL light signature (Daytime Running Light) made up of four sectors that outline a circular shape with the distinctive “X” of the projector, now full-LED. The design of the rear light, already full LED, has also been renewed, retaining the distinctive semicircle shape and the directional indicators are also LED.

The appearance of the new generation is embellished with connotative elements for each model. The steel tank has also been reconfigured, as are other details such as an updated exhaust system with minimalist aesthetic features and a characteristic turn of the collectors. The proposal also refers to accessories and clothing. The Desmodue twin-cylinder engine it is also characterized by new clutch and alternator covers, characterized by the "X" style, so the belt cover plates are now characterized by a finer setting.
Each Scrambler® model represents a lively and multifaceted interpretation, powered by an air-cooled Desmodue twin-cylinder engine and associated with a trellis frame with wide handlebars, a low center of gravity, functional electronics and low weight. With the use of Ride by Wire, the new generation of Desmodue can be associated with a Quick Shift up/down system, a standard solution on the Full Throttle and which can be combined as an accessory on the remaining models.

Technical aspects

The steering angle is slightly increased to facilitate maneuvering and urban traffic, with a varied overview of technological solutions and an introduced Ride by Wire accelerator management which allows the use of the Ducati Traction Control. Also available two Riding Modes, opting between Road e Wet. An ABS Cornering solution is also standard.
The new generation of Scrambler® presents several updates also from a strictly technical point of view with a reduction of 4 kg. The renewed chassis includes an updated frame which still remains a trellis frame and also a new swingarm combined with a shock absorber relocated to the central area of ​​the vehicle. The weight of the engine itself is reduced through interventions and the rear subframe is separated from the chassis.
The bike is equipped with an 18-inch front rim and a 17-inch rear rim characterized by a new design.

Compared to the previous generation, the weight of the advanced Desmodue engine is reduced by around 2,5 kg. It is an air-cooled two-valve twin-cylinder, as mentioned, which is combined with a new eight-plate clutch characterized by softer activation.
The power reaches i 73 horses and one is also proposed 35 kW variant, aimed at motorcyclists who hold an A2 licence.
