The pilot Ducati, Carlin Dunne, at the helm of the new one Multistrada 1260, won the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb 2018, the prestigious uphill race held this weekend in the mountains of Colorado, bringing Ducati back to victory and regaining the crown of “King Of The Mountain”. Riding with determination, courage and on the strength of a fast bike, Dunne completed the “Race to the Clouds” with a time of 9'59''102, taking his fourth victory at Pikes Peak, riding a Ducati Multistrada.

Pikes Peak International: the race

"We did it! We climbed to the top step of the podium for the fourth time – said Carlin Dunne at the finish line of the race -. The Multistrada 1260 Pikes Peak turned out to be extraordinary, just as we all expected. The bike was perfect, everything worked in the best way, guaranteeing me everything I needed to reach the top of the mountain faster than anyone else. We know that Pikes Peak is never an easy race, but everything went in the best possible way and we achieved a good victory for Ducati which, without a shadow of a doubt, confirms itself as 'The King Of The Mountain'“. This is Ducati's seventh victory at the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, which saw its first success in 2008, the year of the Multistrada's debut in this prestigious and hard-fought uphill race. The Ducati-Dunne duo maintained the absolute record from 2012 to 2016 while in 2017 the Borgo Panigale manufacturer did not take part in the competition. Completing Ducati's success at this 2018 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb was also the third place of Codie Vahsholtz, second rider of the Spider Grips Ducati Pikes Peak team, who this year joined Dunne in the race. Vahsholtz, who finished with a great place on the podium, with a time of 10'12''703, is a "home" rider, having been born in Colorado and coming from a family of Pikes Peak champions.
