Appearance and concept

The motorbike is equipped with full LED headlights, a double circular headlight with bi-function polyellipsoidal modules and Daytime Running Light (DRL) stands out at the front. The model can be customized with the adoption of Ducati Performance accessories, a varied proposal which includes for example a additional 8 liter tank placed in the rear area, a rally saddle or aluminum side cases which, in combination with a top case, bring the general load capacity to around 120 litres.
The appearance, defined by the Ducati Style Center, includes color contrasts between white and dark elements with the addition of red details. We also highlight a single volume that includes a tank of over 21 litres and side protections.

Technical solutions

The triangulation of the model facilitates standing riding, also promoting comfort when driving on the road. A slim fit area is highlighted with connected surfaces to facilitate control, given a supported position and a padded saddle placed at 875 millimeters from the ground. The data can be contained with a lowered saddle (proposed as an accessory) and further resized with a lowered suspension accessory kit.
La Ducati DesertX features a new steel trellis frame, which is associated with long-travel suspension. At the front there is a Kayaba fork with upside down legs 46 mm in diameter with a range of 230 mm, manageable in compression, extension and preload. In the rear area there is an aluminum swingarm and there is also a Kayaba mono-shock absorber adjustable in compression, rebound and preload. The rear wheel travel reaches i 220 mm. The value of the ground clearance reaches i 250 mm.
The braking system with ABS Cornering function is composed of a double front disc 320 mm with aluminum flanges and Brembo M50 monobloc radial calipers with four 30 mm pistons, together with an axial pump with adjustable levers. At the rear there is always a Brembo solution, a single disc from 265 mm in diameter associated with a double-piston floating caliper.
It also features a front wheel 21 inches and a back from 18 inches which are fitted with original equipment Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR tires measuring 90/90-21 and 150/70 R18. Also reported is the approval to adopt tires more oriented towards off-road and more road tyres. Also indicated is a dry weight of 202 kg.
Among the electronic solutions there is a 5-inch TFT instrument cluster developed vertically to improve visibility even when driving in an upright position. The display is set up for the Ducati Multimedia System and it is possible to choose between two types of Info Mode: Standard which contains the main information e Rally characterized by a tripmaster function and a typical rally bike screen.
There are six Riding Modes, with the option to choose between Sport, Touring, Urban e Wet, in addition to the specific settings for the Riding mode Enduro and a new one Rally riding modes at full power and with attenuated electronic controls. The modes are combined with the four Power Modes Full, High, Medium e low.
Each driving mode, taking into account the work of a Bosch IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit), reconfigures the character of the vehicle according to needs, intervening on the levels of the various electronic controls such as the ABS Cornering which can be set on three levels and in the Riding Modes dedicated to off-road (Enduro and Rally), which can also be deactivated. Other systems are also present such as: Ducati Quick Shift (DQS) Up & Down, Ducati Traction Control (DTC), Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC) and Engine Brake Control (EBC).

Propulsive heart and power

The model is equipped with an advanced engine Testastretta 11 ° da 937 cc liquid cooled and with desmodromic distribution. The power reaches i 110 horses at 9.250 rpm and the torque is a figure of 92 Nm at 6.500 rpm. Considering the performance aspect, a Termignoni racing exhaust is also highlighted which, with dedicated mapping, projects towards an increase in power and torque of +7%, according to the indications.
The gearbox is characterized by dedicated and different ratios compared to those of the new Multistrada V2.
The motorbike can also be ordered in a detuned version from 35 kW.
