The models

An idea of ​​luxury and performance on two wheels translated into examples K 1600 GT, the most agile and dynamic version of this overview, therefore in the variant K 1600 GTL characterized by more accentuated ergonomics and equipped with a top case.
In addition to these, the version To 1600 B it is a further expressive level with the arrival at "streamlining", observing the low rear section in bagger style. A dynamic concept that is always elegant and refined, which conveys a strong character. The new one also rests on this basis To 1600 Grand America, a new symbiosis between exclusive equipment designed to support long journeys and the power expressed by the six-cylinder in-line engine.
Each model of BMW K 1600 GT, K 1600 GTL, K 1600 B and K 1600 Grand America can dress three color variations, one basic, another stylish and an Option 719. Characteristic, for example, is the Option 719 “Midnight” associated only with the K 1600 B and K 1600 Grand America models. The metallic Meteoric Dust II paintwork with a “Galaxy” theme characterized by an immersion print is highlighted.

Technology

The specimens are all equipped with light sources a LED , looking at the new full LED headlight with LED lens technology and a daytime driving light, according to the market, which spreads a clear and bright beam. Furthermore, from a technical point of view, the BMW Motorrad Dynamic ESA “Next Generation” (Electronic Suspension Adjustment) on the new K 1600 GT, K 1600 GTL, K 1600 B and K 1600 Grand America transmits even higher levels of safety while driving, as well as supporting performance and comfort, considering damping that automatically adapts to the driving conditions and manoeuvres. An automatic compensation of the driving position for various load levels is also highlighted.

Motor

The examples are equipped with a six-cylinder in-line engine, as mentioned, evolved in consideration of the Euro 5 regulation with a new engine control, a knock sensor system and a drag torque control (MSR) functional to avoid unstable conditions when releasing the accelerator or when downshifting with excessive slip of the rear wheel.
Highlights include a BMS-O electronic engine management system, two knock sensors and two additional broadband lambda probes.
A power of 160 horses (118 kW) already obtained at a rotation speed of 6.750 rpm, i.e. 1.000 rpm less than the previous figure. The resulting couple summit rises 180 Nm at 5.250 rpm.
