Bimota: what a nice surprise at EICMA 2015Bimota: what a nice surprise at EICMA 2015

Bimota – Among the pleasant surprises of EICMA 2015, the Bimota brand was born. Tens of thousands of people came to admire the gems displayed by the Bimota technicians. The Milan exhibition opened with the Bimota press conference made even more artistic by the ceremony which saw the unveiling of its new creations by the dancer of the Teatro alla Scala Beatrice Carbone, accompanied by the notes of Andrea Bocelli and against the backdrop of the Ponte di Tiberio, a bridge from the Roman era, symbol of the city of Rimini.

The Tesi 3D Naked was one of the most popular motorcycles and, after more than 20 years from the first Tesi, the 3D Naked is the first with high handlebars and a passenger seat. Load transfers controlled by the front suspension (Dive Controlled System) which absorbs the forces, reducing the lowering of the front end to a minimum, maximum speed in changes of direction, absolute control of the motorbike and a twin-cylinder heart are the strong points of this Italian jewel. The equipment is completed by the two 320mm front discs with radial master cylinders and upside-down calipers, the double front and rear mono shock absorber and all the parts machined from solid, starting from the main frame up to details such as the steering supports and footpegs.

The Tesi 3D Naked is characterized by the front end where steering and suspension act separately, a solution created by Bimota already in the early XNUMXs. At its core, the idea of reducing load transfers to almost zero, in particular during braking: thus entering corners becomes quicker and more precise, while when entering and exiting the Tesi 3D Naked it maintains the trajectory set by the rider. The sportiness is accentuated by the engine performance, the excellent Öhlins suspension system, the low weight and the very narrow sidewalls: at all times rider and bike are one. Even with the low center of gravity, the Tesi allows quick changes of direction and good stability on fast speeds.

The Bimota staff is already working to improve the products after receiving suggestions and criticisms during the Milan event. The development process of new projects and new commercial networks continues in Rimini. The next event is the Motorcycle Live at the NEC in Birmingham in Great Britain, from 28 November to 6 December where Bimota will also introduce the English public to the new Tesi 3D RC, the Impeto and the Supercharger kit.
