Piaggio arrives in India with the Aprilia brand

Piaggio – Piaggio is ready to launch scooters on the Indian market and is doing so with the Aprilia brand. As can be read from a note from ADNKronos, which takes up an official statement from the Italian Group, Marketing of the Aprilia Sr 150 sports scooter will begin in India in the next few days. "After the success of the Ape and the positioning of Vespa in the premium segment of the Indian market, we are further strengthening our offer in the subcontinent with the entry into the Indian market of the Aprilia Sr 150 scooter, a vehicle that well characterizes the sporting qualities of the Noale company and which stands out for its technological and stylistic equipment superior to direct competitors in its segment.” explains Roberto Colaninno, president and CEO of the Piaggio Group.

Aprilia Sr 150 will be sold at the competitive price of 65.000 rupees (around 880 euros), thus positioning itself in a segment that has growth rates even higher than the progression of the entire Indian scooter market and will allow the Piaggio Group to pursue an industrial and commercial strategy also aimed at lighter and sportier engines, as in the best tradition of the Aprilia brand which has made it successful since its inception. The Aprilia SR 150 combines the feeling of a sports motorcycle with the ease of use of a scooter, it is designed and engineered in Italy and produced in the Piaggio Group factories in Baramati, in the state of Maharashtra. Rich in all the typical contents of the unmistakable sporting character of the brand, Aprilia SR 150 has an aggressive and sporty style and top performance in its category thanks to the modern and brilliant 150cc, 4-stroke single-cylinder engine. The aesthetics are strongly characterized by the large 14" five-spoke rims which exhibit a decidedly racing design taken from the Aprilia race bikes, protagonists on the MotoGP championship circuits.

The Aprilia SR 150 will be available for purchase during the month of August but it is already possible to book it through the Piaggio Group distribution network
