Il Dakar Tours stopped in Milan to present the 2019 route. For the occasion, the Deus Caffè opened its doors to over 150 people including competitors, team members and journalists. As already announced by the organizers, the 41st edition of the toughest rally in the world will take place from 6 to 17 January 2019. The route will be divided into 10 stages and will unfold in Peru, with departure and arrival in Lima. On the contrary, there will be no shortage of challenges. It will be a very demanding race from a sporting point of view which will once again see sand and navigation as major protagonists.

There was so much interest shown by the Italian drivers, present in the last edition in all categories. The objective is to continue to grow in the number and quality of pilots represented. As happened last year with Eugenio Amos, who held the Italian flag high, achieving sixth place in the fifth stage in the car category. “I have wonderful memories and now I'm working to return next January with an all-Italian team - he has declared Eugene Amos -. The 2019 edition promises to be very interesting. I'm happy that we will face a lot of sand and the fact that we won't have many stages at altitude is good for the vehicles“. As for motorbikes, the category in which Italy is most represented, the circular route meets the needs of the riders of the "original by Motul" motorcycle market. “We will certainly have some circular stages and this will also allow us to return to the bivouac and have more time to work on the bike - he has declared Diocletian Toia, four Dakars behind him, three of which took place in Malle Moto -. Perhaps we will miss the charm of a distant destination to reach a little, but Peru is a wonderful country with an incredible geographical and landscape variety. After the accident last October, I recently got back on a motorbike. My goal is to return to racing the Dakar, always on a motorbike, if possible in January or next year“. He will certainly be at the start in Lima Jacopo Cerutti, Husquarna Italia rider. “It will be my fourth Dakar and I aim to improve. The goal is to finish in the Top15, but very close to the top 10. I am very motivated“. Big reveal last year, too Maurizio gerini he is training to be at the start of the 2019 Dakar: “I made my debut last year and as soon as I got back I immediately got to work on getting back. It is a unique experience, human as well as sporting".
