Ducati – 2016 was another positive year for Ducati. The Emilian brand delivered 55.451 motorbikes to customers all over the world, recording an increase in sales for the seventh consecutive year (+1,2%; 642 motorbikes more than 2015). The result translates into 731 million euros in turnover, with an increase of 4,1% compared to the 2015 financial year (702 million euros). At the end of the 2016 fiscal year, Ducati also contributed with an operating result of 51 million euros (54 million euros in 2015) and an operating margin of 7% to the result of the Audi Group.

Audi Group's financial data for the 2016 fiscal year, of which Ducati represents the motorcycle segment, were presented at the annual press conference which took place at the AUDI AG headquarters in Ingolstadt. “The continuous qualitative and technological evolution of our range, the constant development of our dealer network and the effectiveness of a strategy based on investments aimed at product, quality and customer, has allowed the Company to continue on its path of growth”, declared Claudio Domenicali, CEO of Ducati Motor Holding. “This allows us to look to the future with optimism and with the awareness that we are on the right path".

The Company continues to invest in new technologies and into new products. In this way, we will be able to continue to grow steadily both in terms of turnover and profitability". The markets of Europe made a significant contribution to achieving this result, with many reporting double-digit growth. In Italy, sales increased by 20%, while Spain saw sales increase by 38%. In Germany, deliveries increased by 8 percent compared to the previous year.

The United States confirms itself as the top market for Ducati, reaching 8.787 motorcycles delivered to customers. In non-European markets, noteworthy is the significant performance of the Brand in China, where Ducati doubled the result of the previous year (+120%). In Brazil, deliveries increased by 36%; in Argentina by 215%. Seven new motorcycles were presented for 2017: the 1299 Superleggera, the SuperSport, the Multistrada 950, the Monster 1200, the Monster 797, as well as two new versions of the Scrambler®, the Café Racer and the Desert Sled.

Ducati today boasts a total of 1.558 employees, compared to 1.197 in 2012, marking a 30% increase in new hires in the last four years. The sales network of the Borgo Panigale motorcycle manufacturer today includes more than 780 dealers in over 90 countries.
