Zero SR/S: a new faired and technological example [PHOTO]

The new one has been introduced SR/S signed Zero Motorcycles, recognizable by its streamlined and faired design, as well as its advanced equipment and ergonomics. A new piece of the electric proposal developed by the American manufacturer.

Technological features

The vision of the new SR/S it is purely aerodynamic and fluid. Aspect that allows for an increase in 13% of performance and autonomy compared to SR / F, as reported. The fairing is linked to the steel trellis frame and is enveloping. The swingarm itself together with the frame are designed to maximize the delivery of torque supplied to the rear wheel. There is a double radial disc in the front area. Furthermore, the setting with high handlebars and low footpegs favors a relaxed and upright position, thanks also to a wide saddle to accommodate a passenger as well as other relocated footpegs. The suspension setup is functional, as is the innovative operating system Cypher III of Zero and Bosch Stability Control (MSC). The Cypher III solution is a "central hub" of the system, as indicated, considering various solutions including ABS, cornering brake control, drag torque management and traction control. From the aforementioned Bosch MSC to the new generation App and the Zero dashboard. The operating system supports the same connectivity as the vehicle, with management of four main areas, namely: "motorcycle status and alerts, charging, sharing of riding data, system upgrades and updates".

Power unit and charging

The indicated torque amounts to 190 Nm e 110 horses of power already proposed in the recall, translated into an interesting performance boost connected to the same engine ZF 75-10, as well as an indicated lithium-ion battery from 14,4 kWh. The electric drive unit is compact and enriched by an air cooling system and pushes the SR/S up to 200 km/h of speed, and then travel 323 km over the course of one charge with the addition of Power Tank by Zero, taking the indications again. The driving modes are also varied, ranging between "Street", "Sport", "Eco", "Rain" and up to 10 customized modes, with management through the App and the interface of the large dashboard. The fast charging system connected to charging stations Level 2, provides a platform that can manage up to three independent charging modules. With i three modules installed, recharging the model from 0 a 95% is presented in an hour, always considering the information.

Proposal

It is reported that “all connectivity benefits are offered free of charge for the first two years” when purchasing the model. The new Zero SR/S is available on the official dealer network from March 2020. A standard version with quick charger for 3 kW is proposed starting by 22.080 euro, mind a copy with a quick charger from 6 kW, heated grips and aluminum end caps, starting by 24.340 euro. The colors available are Skyline Silver e Cerulean Blue.
