Zero Motorcycles: partnership with Reneos on the sustainability front

With the increase in production volumes of electric and electrified vehicles, an increase in demand for sustainable solutions for the collection and recycling of discarded batteries is expected. Zero Motorcycles, taking an interest in this aspect and starting from October 2020, has chosen to address the issue by establishing a new partnerships.

The development of a battery collection and recycling platform decommissioned in Europe has caught the attention of Zero Motorcycles, given the presence of dealers in various areas such as Austria, Benelux, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Norway, Portugal, United Kingdom, Czech Republic, Spain and Sweden. Hence the decision to rely on Reneos for its experience in the sector, considering a network of companies operating in individual territories. A European hub capable of “ensure the collection, transport and recycling of disused batteries in total safety and in compliance with current regulations”, as indicated.

The recovery and recycling of lithium ion batteries requires precise skills, in Europe Zero Motorcycles has chosen Reneos, the first European platform with high expertise in this area and born from the needs of companies present in various countries and leaders in the sector of battery collection and recycling, joining forces to shape an all-encompassing network that would respond to the requests of international companies active on the Old Continent.
Through a network of local companies with experience in different territories, Reneos can provide large-scale recycling of multinational lithium-ion batteries. Local companies can take care of the safe transport and storage of worn and damaged batteries according to European guidelines and the legislation of each individual country relating to the handling of dangerous goods, and then give them a second life through recycling. System that allows Reneos to address the increase in battery production in a sustainable way, as reported.
