Zero DSR: four electric examples in the fleet of the Municipal Police of Pistoia [PHOTO]

Another interesting chapter in the history of the young reality Zero Motorcycles, the Californian brand specializing in electric motorcycles. Introduced into the fleet of Municipal Police of Pistoia four specimens of DSR, among the best performing models in the range.

Electric thrust and functionality

The signed specimens Zero Motorcycles, considering the police forces and those who deal with public order and local security, present characteristics that avoid, for example, potential distractions, for the benefit of greater attention on patrolling operations. For example, the absence of gear changes, therefore the use of the clutch, as well as the absence of the typical sound of a thermal engine. The instant torque allows for marked dynamism and another interesting aspect is the very lack of emissions during use, opening up the possibility of new operating strategies.
The choice made by the Municipal Police of Pistoia, integrating its fleet of vehicles with these specimens, highlights particular attention to the environment, compatible with the “green choices” of the Tuscan city, where there are several pedestrian and limited traffic areas.

The Zero DSR

Equipped by Bertazzoni Special Vehicles, a company that deals with the customization of vehicles used for special purposes present in Collecchio (Parma); four o'clock Zero DSR they feature blue lights, sirens together with the cycling features of the vehicle which allow you to travel on multiple types of roads, from the city to green areas, making them versatile for control operations in the area.
The Zero DSR is a Dual Sport designed for medium and long-range tourist driving and to tackle various types of routes, as mentioned, from asphalt to dirt. Thrust is provided by an electric thruster that delivers 52 kW of power and generates a torque of 146 Nm. It is possible to exceed 160 km/h. It features a standard 11,4 kWh battery, which allows a range of approximately 250 km in the urban cycle and 200 km in the extra-urban cycle, still taking the indications.
