According to the information, the aforementioned training module has already been integrated into the courses 244 Italian driving schools, Of which 70 a Roma, reaching around 2.000 Roman students for better training on the rules regarding the circulation and parking of electric scooters.

Before using the training module, which will continue to be offered by UNASCA during 2022, with the opportunity to test the knowledge acquired through the free digital driving school Ride Like Voila created by Voi Technology; Around 2.000 students were asked to take part in a test on their knowledge of the circulation and parking rules for scooters in urban environments. As listed on the occasion, it emerged that:

– 33% do not know the requirements that a scooter must have to be able to legally circulate on Italian roads (they must have obtained CE approval and be equipped with directional indicators).
– 33% do not know that it is illegal to ride a scooter on pavements and on any type of urban road (they can only ride on roads whose speed limit is within 50 km/h, in pedestrian areas, wherever the circulation of vehicles is permitted bicycles).
– 31% do not know that they can circulate in pedestrian areas (they think it is forbidden) but that to circulate they must maintain a maximum speed of 6km/h (which is automatically reduced for shared scooters).
– 25% do not know that parking scooters on sidewalks is not allowed.
– Another 25% of students do not know what the braking distance of scooters is.
– The same number of students do not know what reaction time is and that it increases if you drive under the influence of impaired substances.

In addition to theory there is a practical part. UNASCA and Voi Technology have organized the first of a series of practical courses on safe scooter riding.
At the Tiburtina Valeria Driving School, the course was followed by around a hundred people taking part in the driving school or citizenship courses of the Municipalities III, IV and V of the Municipality of Rome. Everyone was able to put into practice what they learned during the theoretical module by riding Voi scooters available for the occasion, with the support of teachers and tutors.
