YAMAHA YS125 – The increasingly congested urban traffic and the constant increase in public transport prices often make the lives of people who have to travel within their own city to reach their workplace complicated and difficult.

From today, however, the House of the Three Diapasons has a new solution for them: Yamaha YS125, the first motorcycle to join the Urban Mobility range, a renowned family made up of different types of accessible, reliable, convenient and above all economical models, which therefore expands by opening the doors of your garage to a further valid alternative for moving around the city and its surroundings.

New Yamaha YS125: Ride Free

The new YS125, also accessible to holders of a type B licence, is designed to attract an even larger number of enthusiasts thanks to its sporty and captivating design. The light weight and compact dimensions ensure easy riding, while the reduced fuel consumption and the high level of driving comfort transform it into one of the most practical and reliable low-displacement motorcycles to use on the daily home-work journey.

The newcomer from Casa Iwata takes inspiration from the YBR125, a model consolidated within the European market thanks to its extremely low operating costs, the accessibility of the purchase price and, naturally, the legendary reliability that characterizes the vehicles produced by the Japanese brand . The proven durability of the YBR125, as well as the professional assistance offered by the Yamaha dealer network in Europe, has in fact contributed to its diffusion within the reference scenario. Over the past decade, with over 150.000 units sold in Europe, the YBR125 has proven to be a machine loved by many.

Starting from the strengths of this historic model, Yamaha therefore adds a new chapter to the history of the Urban Mobility range with a vehicle with a modern style, designed to meet the needs and requests of those who want to move independently on urban streets.

More autonomy, comfort and style

The new Yamaha YS125 was designed to strengthen the features that have made the YBR125 a best seller and, at the same time, offer today's commuters an even more comfortable and elegant way to get around. With the YS125, YBR125 owners will therefore experience greater autonomy and a higher level of comfort. At the same time, the expectations of those who decide to approach the world of two wheels for the first time and move from a 50 cc to a 125 cc will not be betrayed by the YS125 thanks to its ease of riding and reliability.

Smooth, reliable and convenient engine

Reliability, affordability and low running costs are at the top of most commuters' wish lists. Thanks to its new engine, a 125 cc 2-valve SOHC air-cooled Euro 4, YS125 wins the qualification of one of the safest and most convenient vehicles in the category. To ensure a notable reduction in consumption and emissions, the compact engine has been equipped with a new 57,9 mm long-stroke cylinder and a new engine head design, with a narrower valve crossing angle. Furthermore, the single-shaft balance wheel ensures a comfortable ride. The starter is electric but, to avoid being caught by surprise by any unexpected events, there is also a starter pedal.

New modern sporty look

The YS125 brings a breath of fresh air to the world of small-displacement motorcycles thanks to its sportier and more innovative "face" which features a redesigned headlight, set in a new and compact fairing. The indicators are equipped with transparent lenses, while the new rear light cluster and the license plate holder reinforce the modern and sporty image of this new urban vehicle. In addition to the new headlight and minimalist fairing, YS125 also stands out for its new design, a feature that underlines the desire to establish itself as a reference vehicle for commuters. The new side air intakes complete the group consisting of the headlight and fairing, while the redesigned side panels, tail section and front mudguard, as well as the upward sloping muffler, give the YS125 a new, sportier and livelier look.

Colors, price and availability

YS125 will be available in Tre Diapason Official Dealers starting from March 2017, at the price of 2.790 euros fc, in the colors Power Red, Competition White and Midnight Black.
