Yamaha Yard Built, the new Specials for 2014

The new edition of was staged in recent days Wheels & Waves, one of the most exciting events of the year for Special motorcycle and surfing enthusiasts. Taking advantage of the occasion, Yamaha presented its entire collection Yard Built, including some absolutely new models based on the single-cylinder SR400, which we have already had the opportunity to see at EICMA of last year.

The first is the SR400 Homage, created by the German brothers Christian and Raphael Bender, directly inspired by Yamaha XT500. The engine crankcase, chain cover, steering plates and levers have been replaced. Also noteworthy are the endurance-style chromed handlebars, the scrambler exhaust and the new front and rear lights. The second and third Special, however, have a common origin, namely the group of Deus Ex Machina. It is about SR400 Lightning and the special Deus 400 kit. This last package in particular is very interesting, as it actually allows those who own a SR400 to build your own special edition branded Deus at home. We find new fenders, racks, chain covers, side tables, lights, footpegs and levers, without forgetting the custom seat and exhaust.

The Milanese group then completed the offer with the SR400 Lightning, capable of tackling various off-road terrains thanks to the Fox rear shock absorber, the SC Project exhaust and the Spring conical filters, with undeniable advantages also in terms of sound. Final touches are the motocross handlebars and the Sei Giorni headlight with vintage effect.
