yamaha v max – To celebrate the 30th anniversary of Yamaha VMAX, the Japanese brand will present three new and unusual ones during 2015 Special Yard Built dedicated. The first of these exemplary projects is called Infrared and was created by the German bike-maker Jens vom Brauck.

Better known as JvB-moto Jens vom Brauck has created a bare-bones motorcycle that combines the most advanced materials with a custom touch that pays homage to the best design of the 80s, when the VMAX was born. JvB-moto's idea for VMAX Yard Built was to transform the production model into a radical dragster, contaminated by the concept of Cafe Racer. A key element of the project was the tribute to the 30 years of history of VMAX, represented by the components already present at its birth in 1985. The front part is characterized by the custom aluminum mudguard placed just below one of the "trademarks" JvB-moto, the headlight assembly that integrates the Motogadget fork and indicators. The Café Racer can be found in modified clip-on handlebars, while the rider has an authentic dragster tachometer by Autometer before his eyes. Above a heavily modified airbox and electrical system we find the particular tank cover. The craftsmanship continues with the aluminum frame made with parts of the standard one. The rear ends, however, with another distinctive feature of JvB-moto, the carbon tail made by hand by Jens vom Brauck. Finally, the exhaust has been modified with a 4 into 1 system, where at its end we can see and hear a Termignoni muffler.

"Yamaha VMAX has been an unrivaled icon since its first appearance on the streets in 1985, with its extreme dragster style", he has declared Shun Miyazawa, Product Manager Yamaha. “It was an immediate love at first sight for motorcyclists all over the world, not only in the standard version, but also as a basis for customizations. As a form of respect for the culture that has grown around this legendary motorcycle, we have chosen to celebrate its 30 years by working with 3 talented tuners, to create as many Special VMAXs that would become a source of inspiration not only for Yamaha itself, but also for customers and potential buyers. We started this important year with the Yard Built creation of the legendary German tuning machine JvB-moto. We are passionate about his work and we think his minimalist style is perfect for VMAX. The result is there for all to see: Yard Built “Infrared” is a tribute to the origins of VMAX and at the same time also a preview of tomorrow's performance".

Good news also from the markets for Yamaha. The Japanese brand recorded an increase in consolidated operating profit - during the fiscal year ended 31 December 2014 - of 58,2% at 87,2 billion yen, or about 730 million dollars, thanks to the increase in sales. The company thus achieved its goal a year earlier 80 billion yen in operating profit a year ahead of schedule. Net sales increased 7,9% to 1,52 trillion yen, about $12,8 billion, with increases across all business segments, including motorcycles, marine engines, electrical products, industrial machines and robots, and other products. Global net motorcycle sales increased to 977,6 billion yen, up 49,4 billion yen, and operating income increased to 22,9 billion yen, up XNUMX billion yen. 14,6 billion yen.
