Yamaha Tricity 300: the three-wheeler for the city, even with a B license [PHOTO]

The new Yamaha Tri City 300 is one of the novelties of EICMA 2019, which opened its doors to the press today and will be open to the public from 7 to 10 November at Rho Fiera Milano. A three-wheeled model, dedicated above all to those who move around the city and with the possibility of being driven even by those in possession of a B driving license, at least 21 years of age.

The features of the Yamaha Tricity 300

This model offers a design distinctive, incorporating the stylistic cues of the Japanese company's best-selling sports scooters. One of the most significant stylistic features is the compact and aerodynamic fairing, slimmer and taller than other models in the category. With no protrusions, the short and relatively narrow nose of the Tricity 300 leaves an open space between the two twin front wheels to underline the agile and sporty character of this model.

The Yamaha Tricity 300 is equipped with wheels from 14 inches both front and rear, to ensure greater safety and offer high levels of traction, durability and performance even in the wet. These wheels allowed the use of 267 mm discs on all three wheels, thus offering greater braking controllability on various road surfaces. There is no shortage of space under the saddle with a large compartment for two full-face helmets or a helmet and an A4 briefcase.

Yamaha Tricity 300 and the engine

The three-wheeler of the tuning fork brand is driven by the latest engine Yamaha Blue Core. The liquid-cooled SOHC 4cc 300-valve single-cylinder 4-stroke is based on the advanced design used by the best-selling XMAX 300 sports scooter and, to achieve a high level of combustion efficiency, the design of the combustion chamber and intake duct is optimized .

For decisive acceleration, together with reduced consumption and respect for the environment, Yamaha Tricity 300 adopts dedicated settings for mapping of the injection, while the 12-hole injector features an optimized spray angle which increases combustion efficiency for full-bodied torque at low and medium rpm.
