Yamaha Tricity 125 and Tricity 155: the new and advanced three-wheeled scooters

Yamaha Tri City 125 it is equipped with a new engine for 2022 Blue Core Euro 5 and we also note a refined frame to reinforce the feeling of comfort and stability. Along with this three-wheeled model, the new and more powerful one is also introduced tricity 155.

The new Tricity 125 and Tricity 155 models

The appearance is sporty with refined and recognizable aesthetic features, which suggest agile dynamism. Given the technical changes of the new chassis, there are light interventions to the bodywork around the footboard area and the main ignition switch, as well as a new rear mudguard.
The new tricity 125 features a push-start system Smart Key, which also allows you to unlock the handlebars and open the saddle. It indicates a larger footrest area with more space in the front and a newly defined adaptation of the passenger footrests, which are easier to extract when folded.
The new Tricity 125 features a new frame design, as mentioned. It features various refinements including a 60 mm longer wheelbase and revised engine supports to ensure better overall balance. The new design is supported by an increase in torsional and longitudinal rigidity, as well as a regulated level of flexibility, functional in the dynamism expressed. The braking system with discs from 220 mm and 230 mm, front and rear respectively, provides a Unied Brake System (UBS) system which automatically distributes braking force to the front and rear wheels when the rear brake is applied.
The new Yamaha Tricity 125 is powered by a latest generation Euro 5 engine with Yamaha's Blue Core technology which reduces emissions to a minimum and VVA technology (Variable Valve Actuation) which supports good acceleration.
Among the interesting aspects is also a new system Stop & Start designed to turn off the engine when the vehicle is stationary and automatically restart it when the accelerator is pressed. Efficiency is monitored by Starter Generator Control Unit (SGCU) to 32 bit which constantly follows driving conditions and prevents frequent stops and starts, when in traffic for example. The new Smart Motor Generator system uses the crankshaft directly, as indicated. We report a power of 9,0 kW at 8.000 rpm and can be driven even with a B driving licence.
Moving on to the most powerful tricity 155, similar aspects but also differences are highlighted, such as the braking system which, together with 220 mm and 230 mm disc brakes, includes ABS, therefore a parking brake and an engine which is also of the Blue Core type, Euro 5 approved but slightly bulkier 155 cc, 4-stroke and liquid-cooled. The power is equal to 11,1 kW at 8.000 rpm.
The proposal of original accessories for the Tricity 125 and Tricity 155 is varied, opting between windshields, suitcases or other, as well as casual clothing solutions suitable for those who ride the Tricity 125 and Tricity 155. The new Yamaha Tricity 125 and Tricity 155 can dress two new colors: Petrol Blue e Sand gray. The models are also offered in Matt Gray.
