A 20 year journey

The first generation launched in 2001 it immediately provided an idea of sportsmanship. A scooter powered by a 500 cc drive unit mounted in the tubular frame, capable of propelling this vehicle at 160 km/h.

The evolution continued with a second generation between 2004 and 2007, equipped with a new fork, a braking system with double front disc and powered by a more powerful injection engine. So we get to the third generation in 2008. A scooter characterized by a new frame, a fork with wider diameter legs and a 15-inch front wheel.

After a few years in 2012 the fourth generation was introduced with a new frame, new aluminum swingarm and a more powerful 530 cc engine. It anticipates the fifth generation which arrived in 2015 with an upside down fork like on motorbikes and radial brake calipers.

The sixth generation was introduced two years later, in 2017, distinguishable by a renewed and dynamic aesthetic and the introduction of electronic assistance systems such as a traction control (TCS) and a Yamaha Chip Controlled Throttle (YCC-T) electronically controlled accelerator. Also proposed on this occasion in the SX version with higher options and D-MODE selectable power delivery modes. Instead, the DX model was equipped with an electrically adjustable windscreen, heated seat and grips, and therefore cruise control.

Finally the launch last year of the renewed and more dynamic TMAX created up to now. A model with a more aggressive look and a 560 cc engine.
