From 4 May 2020 a second phase of recovery has begun with a progressive restoration of production activities. Yamaha MotorEurope announces the return to operations in the Italian factory Minarelli Engines a Calderara Reno and in the transalpine assembly plant MBK Industries a Saint Quentinin France. Adaptations are highlighted “to safeguard the health and well-being of the workforce, which remains the priority for Yamaha Motor Europe”.

Eric de Seynes, President and CEO of Yamaha Motor Europe, positively underlines the reopening of the plants in this difficult period. A recovery possible with collaboration between the parties involved, guaranteeing all safety standards. A “key moment” as indicated on the occasion, thus supporting the dealer network with the new products.
Production at the aforementioned facilities was temporarily suspended on 16 March, in consideration of the safety of operators, before the blockade adopted to combat the spread of the Coronavirus COVID-19. Careful monitoring was carried out during the period, evaluating the situation on a weekly basis, until a resumption of production was planned in two phases. The first took place in April, compatibly with the restrictions in each country. In this phase there has been a return to work only by authorized employees, respecting social distancing in individual tasks, according to a program to adopt safety measures to combat COVID-19 in working environments, preparing the factory in view of a complete reopening and the restoration of the main activities.
