Yamaha R7 Cup: a new challenge for Gentlemen Riders

The first edition of the Yamaha R7 Cup it's a comparison for Gentlemen Riders developed in four stages, both within the 2022 Italian Speed ​​Championship and in an Italian stage of the 2022 Superbike World Championship. Registrations will start from January 2022 and the information will be offered on the Yamaha portal.

Indications

The name of the motorbike recalls that of the superbike YZF-R7 with whom Noriyuki Haga and Wataru Yoshikawa took part in legendary races. In the case of the new R7 we are thinking of a Supersport that can be used on daily routes and when you want to take to the track.
Therefore in the R7 cup, this motorbike becomes a racing sports bike thanks to the GYTR kit, i.e. the racing accessories linked to Yamaha, present in the registration fee. Enthusiasts who want to experience the sensations of competition on a Yamaha will be able to take part in this single-brand championship at an affordable cost, according to the indications.
From January, interested parties will be able to contact racing specialists for the preparation of the vehicle. The inauguration of some GYTR Pro-Shops is expected in 2022, dealerships representing the sporting side of Yamaha that operate on the market and make available to customers, for the first time, their experience and skills developed in Superbike and in the panorama of series derivatives.
The new challenge will be highlighted on Yamaha's social pages and also visible on the official FMI channels, as specified on the occasion.
Those who take part in the single-make championship will appear on a dedicated grid to compete for the title also in view of the European SuperFinal, accessible to the top five classified, scheduled during an event of the Superbike World Championship.
