Yamaha R1S, is the third fireball on the way?

Yamaha R1S – Before revealing the new 1 Yamaha R1 and R2015M the Japanese brand also registered the name YZF-R1S for use on a new two-wheel model.

What we know about Yamaha R1S is that the trademark was registered in America, but not in Europe, perhaps simply because it had the function of an "alternative moniker" that could be used instead of the current R1M, given that Yamaha thought of adding the suffix "Rim" rather than the current “M”, which distinguishes the high-performance version of the Yamaha R1. But given that the Japanese brand has decided to call the "more track" version of its R1 with the addition of the "M" and that it has not yet dropped the trademark application for the R1S name, this suggests that the manufacturer he may still have the intention of using the R1S brand for an additional series model.

The one that could have become the new one YamahaR1M, the more track-oriented of the two versions of the Japanese racing car, the one that today clearly challenges other models on the markettrack-oriented' as the Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade SP, Ducati 1199 Panigale S and BMW S1000RR HP4, still has several chances of being able to see the two-wheel market one day. It's also worth noting that the first teaser video of the Yamaha for 2015 has shown several motorcycle projects and it is therefore possible that the Japanese brand actually has plans for another version that could use the “R1S” name. Since the YamahaR1M has long been sold out, despite having a price of around 20.000 euros, it is easy to imagine that someone in Iwata must have thought that there could be further profit by creating a new high-performance limited edition model.
