Yamaha NMAX – Yamaha has unveiled a new scooter with 155 tsp called NMAX. Produced in Indonesia, the new two-wheeler from the Japanese brand will be launched first in the Asian country in the month of February, before being brought to other Asian markets, as well as other Western markets. It is unclear, however, whether the launch will also include the North America, although it's worth noting that Yamaha has filed a trademark application with the US Patent and Trademark Office for the NMAX name.

The Yamaha NMAX is powered by a 155 tsp liquid-cooled developed under the concept of Blue Core of Yamaha. Also present in a simplified form on the scooter Mio 125 and on the motorbike FZ-S 149cc, the Blu Core engine seeks to balance performance and fuel efficiency, following the mantra “Every drop for every moment“. The NMAX engine uses the technology Variable valve actuation and is designed to optimize combustion, reducing power loss.

Visually the Yamaha NMAX has the same line and grooves as other scooters "MAX" from Yamaha, the TMAX, 530 cc, and the XMAX, offered with 400cc, 250cc and 125cc engines. The Yamaha NMAX uses a lightweight, high-rigidity frame, the wheels are 13 inches and, for the first time in an ASEAN market scooter, there are anti-lock brakes. The Yamaha NMAX will go on sale in Indonesia at 27.400.400 rupees (dollars 2.200) and the Japanese brand plans to produce 12.000 unit throughout its year of production.
