Designed to open up a whole world of possibilities to the most future-oriented riders who are looking for a completely new riding experience, Niken is one of the most extreme concepts ever seen in the world of motorcycling, and represents the beginning of a new era in vehicle control. With this new model Yamaha kicks off a new era in the history of motorcycling, a true revolution in riding, which offers unique sensations and takes the sportiness of two wheels into a new dimension. It offers the ability to draw the curves of the most tortuous paths with unparalleled confidence, a new sensation that can be compared to that felt while skiing, in the curves of a slalom. Even though it is different from a motorcycle, Niken's riding characteristics are familiar and reassuring to riders. The advanced and exclusive Yamaha technology used in the design of the two “leaning” front wheels it offers excellent traction, with extraordinary cornering performance, and allows the Niken rider the possibility of navigating the curves of the most tormented routes with unparalleled confidence. And having two front wheels means there are two tires and two braking systems, for a level of grip and braking performance that is unmatched by any other vehicle.

Equipped with the innovative leaning multi wheel technology, which allows an angle of bend up to 45 degrees, and with an extreme design that enhances its contemporary and unique style, Niken is a completely new example of motorcycle, which offers exclusive sensations for front grip, riding confidence and braking. Pushed by a 3 CC 847-cylinder engine, liquid-cooled, rich in torque, made with the crossplane philosophy and housed in a sophisticated hybrid chassis, Niken is equipped with advanced electronic management technology that offers total control of the vehicle. L'electronic accelerator it is of the YCC-T type with three mapping modes, cruise control (which comes into action above 50 km/h), Traction Control System disengageable (with two setting modes), Quick shift system for smooth gear changes. The slipper clutch increases stability when downshifting. Niken is equipped with Ackermann steering with double upside down fork, hybrid steel and aluminum frame with long aluminum swingarm. The front headlight and rear lights take advantage of the LED technology, such as the turn signals integrated into the YZF-R1 derived mirrors. The two front wheels are 15 inches with a wheelbase of 410 mm; the rear wheel is 17 inches. The instrumentation is compact and all the information is readable on the LCD display. The aluminum tank has an autonomy of 18 litres. The rear suspension is fully adjustable. The braking system consists of two 265.6 mm disc brakes at the front and a 298 mm disc brake at the rear. There is also a 12V socket on board.
