Reliability and design are aspects linked to the new engine unit PW CE and the battery External Crossover 500 initialed Yamaha .

Different brands of e-bike they adopt Yamaha motor units and batteries as standard and, in recent years, there has been progressive growth on this front.
Starting from the new e-bike motor unit, it is the least heavy and most compact, with a nominal power of 250 W e 50 Nm of torque, for a maximum speed of 25 km/h. The weight of the new PW CE series amounts to 2,9 kg* (in the version with coaster brake, without brake support: 3,0 kg). The experts also worked on the noise, reducing it thanks also to various solutions adopted. Considering the riding experience, the new power unit is equipped with Yamaha's industry-leading software, spurring an innovative automatic assistance mode that interacts based on changing riding conditions, opting for the most appropriate assistance mode. Furthermore, a Walk Assist function supports the task of maneuvering and parking uphill or with a load, regardless of the gear selected.
Moving on to the new battery External Crossover 500, was developed to be placed on the oblique tube or in front of the seat tube and equipped with a simple locking and release system for removal so as to be recharged and stored.
The weight amounts to 2,9 kg and is a lithium ion battery 36 V with capacity of 500 Wh, rechargeable in approximately 4 hours, according to the indications.

To offer an even faster and more functional service to European bicycle manufacturers, Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd (Y.M.C.) in Japan has moved the distribution business of its OEM e-bike systems to Yamaha MotorEurope (YME) from 2020 July XNUMX.
