Updates for YZ250 and YZ85

The work of yamaha Motor in the motocross field is demonstrated by constant refinement and development. A new one launched YZ125 for the 2022 and among the various models there are also some interesting updates for the specimens YZ250 e YZ85.

New Yamaha YZ125

A completely redefined engine is one of the aspects immediately highlighted of the new one Yamaha YZ125, together with an optimized chassis with a slim body. A functional setting in a dynamic key, refining ergonomics and performance inspiration. A bike designed for emerging talents. The model is associated with a distinctive Icon Blue scheme which includes a dual-tone finish with a Yamaha Icon Blue and a dark matte blue as well as new in-mold graphics. But there is also the version YZ125 Monster Energy Yamaha Racing Edition, recognizable by a black color and graphics that recall those of the bikes linked to the Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MXGP and MX2 team. The technical specifications are the same.

The new YZ125 is slimmer also considering a smaller tank and a flatter saddle (with the front part lowered by 6 millimeters and the rear part raised by 5 mm). It features a lightweight aluminum semi-double cradle frame, then a removable and reconfigured rear frame with a new muffler mounting point and a single-bolt saddle mounting point, as reported. The side panels, the rear mudguard and the lower part of the new saddle have also been reshaped, according to the air flow in the airbox. Work was also done on the front mudguard.
As mentioned, the tank is thinner and narrower radiator linings are also indicated, as well as a limited width between the rider's knees of approximately 36 mm.
The motorcycle is equipped with refined KYB suspension and the low-speed damping characteristics of the front forks and rear shock absorbers are modified, improving chassis performance. Then a new, more rigid double-piston braking caliper was adopted associated with a redesigned disc with a diameter of 270 mm. A new, more powerful front system with larger diameter 25,4mm pistons and new pads that increase the contact area with the disc by 30%.
An important aspect of the new YZ125, as mentioned, is the engine. A new, more powerful 2 cc 125-stroke heart, which develops higher power at medium-high rpm. Reconfigured the main components such as cylinder head, cylinder and piston for superior performance. Also notable are a longer connecting rod, a slightly heavier crank and a completely redesigned air intake system. Figure a newly designed YPVS, a redefined opening of the new electric exhaust valve. Also highlighted is a new 38,1 mm Keihin PWK carburetor with an additional fuel passage system controlled by a solenoid valve and a TPS (Throttle Position Sensor) which interacts with the CDI and defines a 3D map for optimal ignition timing, according to the information. Also mentioned is a new V-Force reed valve assembly and redefined revised manifold design. The appearance of the exhaust is also new with a slightly reduced diameter of the expansion pipe at the widest point, while the silencer is 50 mm smaller. Finally, the six-speed gearbox has been strengthened, given the increase in maximum power. Highlights include a new drive shaft and redefined return spring with improved clutch pressure plate springs. The secondary reduction ratio has been slightly increased and the 5th and 6th ratios are slightly reduced.

New Yamaha YZ250

Another specimen a 2 times high-performance, agile and light. The evolution for 2022 includes a new slim body, as well as renewed technical specifications which also concern the chassis, suspension and braking system.
The new YZ250 It features a two-tone Icon Blue appearance and durable in-mold graphics. We also note the launch of an exclusive for the first time YZ250 Monster Energy Yamaha Racing Edition with Monster Black shades and graphics that reflect the official ones.
The body appears slim, reminiscent of the layout of the new YZ125, offering a bold and streamlined vision. A compact example also observing the tank area and the radiator covers between the rider's knees. Also new is the development of the saddle which is flatter and also functional on an ergonomic level. Also highlighted are further small weight reductions with the adoption of a newly defined clutch lever and rear sprocket.
The layout of the front mudguard is also different and sportier, just as the side panels and the rear mudguard have been reshaped, improving the efficiency of the air intake. The model also features a new exhaust renewed in terms of size and shape.
On a technical level, the 48 mm KYB SSS front forks and the KYB Monocross linkage rear suspension are also highlighted. Changed the factory setting for refined damping, as reported. Finally, the braking system is new and offers higher performance at a low weight. Of note is a new 270 mm front disc, the same diameter as the previous one but with a new, stiffer caliper and pistons with a larger diameter of 25,4 mm, with a 30% larger pad area. The rear brake has also been improved with a slightly smaller 240 mm diameter disc and a caliper with a new design and the same braking performance as the previous model, saving around 100 g in weight according to the information.

New Yamaha YZ85

Featuring the same advanced technology as the YZ125 and YZ250 models, the new YZ85 represents an interesting starting point for off road enthusiasts.
Visually it resembles the larger displacement models, given a new compact and horizontally developed body, as well as redefined side panels, a new 5-litre tank with a redesigned filler cap and a flat seat with single bolt fixing. A bike covered in a new two-tone Icon Blue and dark matte blue color, along with new in-mold graphics.
The slim body allows for greater movement, thanks also to revised radiator shrouds that are 25 mm narrower at the widest point with a uniform left-right configuration. The front mudguard was then redefined, observing an upper part designed to facilitate direct air flow into the radiator. The redesigned side panels are also functional and, in addition to an interesting and functional design for ease of handling, include new rear air intakes to support efficiency.
The chassis part of the new YZ85 includes a new aluminum rear subframe, whose weight is reduced by 570 g compared to the steel one used on the previous model. The swingarm has also been redefined with a revised balance between longitudinal rigidity and torsional rigidity. Also highlighted is the more linear braking in the rear area, taking into account a new radial master cylinder with integrated secondary tank.

More examples for 2022

Along with the models already mentioned, the advanced ones are also highlighted Yamaha YZ450F e YZ250 in two-tone Icon Blue guise and new in-mold graphics, as well as the Monster Energy Yamaha Racing Edition versions in Monster Black livery and graphics that recall those of the official team.
Also mentioned are functional technical interventions at a performance level, given that these examples are lighter and the suspension setting has been modified, in addition to the adoption of a new rear sprocket with gold-colored chain and the assembly of DID rims. The rear wheel of the YZ250F is wider by 2,15 with a 110/90 tire and there is also a lighter hub and redefined spokes. Furthermore, with Yamaha Power Tuner on YZ450F and YZ250F, riders and technicians can make changes to the character expressed by the engine via mobile phone.
Moving on to Yamaha YZ65 designed for young talents, for 2022 it has been equipped with new graphics and is offered in the Icon Blue color.
Coloring and new graphics which also characterize for 2022 the specimens designed for future champions, i.e. the TT R125, TT R110 e TT R50. The model aimed at children is also available in Icon Blue and with new graphics PW50. By adopting the Little Champ Pack, with training rims, racing design seat cover, Little Champ sticker kit and a sheet of Yamaha Racing stickers, it is also possible to define a racing look.
