After the launch of the special red and white checkered “WGP 50th Anniversary Edition” livery brought to the track by the YZR-M1 MotoGP bikes of Jorge Lorenzo and Ben Spies for the Assen and Laguna Seca races, and the presentation of the new themed colors for the sporting family of the R1, R6, FZ8, R125, TZR50 and Aerox 50 series products, Yamaha continues the celebration of the 50th anniversary of its presence in the GPs thanks to its participation as a protagonist in the second edition of the historical re-enactment of the "200 miles of Imola”, of which it will be the official partner.

The epic motorcycle event of the seventies which in 2011 saw its re-enactment return in a modern key for the first time over thirty years later, will be dedicated only to motorcycles manufactured before 1980 and will be held 30 from September to October 2 2011 as per tradition at the Enzo e Dino Ferrari International Autodrome in Imola.

On the occasion of the long-awaited weekend which will offer all participants the opportunity to admire live the "classics" that represented a golden era of motorcycling, Yamaha, in addition to bringing its customers back on the track with their bikes historic cars, will present exclusively for Italy a fantastic 600 m2 exhibition dedicated to 50 years of GP competitions, showing the sports cars that from 1965 onwards have made the history of the three tuning forks through legendary victories. Some icons of "two wheels" including Giacomo Agostini, Steve Baker and Phil Read will take to the track riding a YZR-M1 in the "fiftieth" version and will act as godfathers to this exceptional exhibition area which, to the delight of curious and true enthusiasts, will host models such as the 1 World Champion YZR-M2010 of Jorge Lorenzo, the YZR-M1 n°46, 2004 and 2008 champions with Valentino Rossi, the Giacomo Agostini's 500 YZR1975 and 350 YZR1974, Wayne Rainey's 500 YZR1992, Carlos Lavado's 250 YZR1983, Kenny Roberts' 5001978 YZRXNUMX and many others.

The first weekend of October will thus see the Imola paddock transformed into a real village of racing passion with three tuning forks, also offering two-wheel lovers the opportunity to attend various animations and shows on the track such as, for example, the GP parade, in which more than one hundred champions of the past will participate and for the occasion will ride on replicas of their original motorbikes. Yamaha will also be present through its Official Clubs RD SERIES and Club TZ Italia, protagonists both on the track and with their own display of examples of their most loved models.
