Yamaha: Ben Spies lights up EICMA 2011
The Yamaha MotoGP rider, overwhelmed by the warmth of the Italian fans, rewards the winners of the 2011 Yamaha R Series Cup on the Motolive stage.
Ben Spies, American talent from the Yamaha Factory Racing MotoGP team, was today an exceptional guest at the Yamaha Motor Italia stand present in pavilion 2 of the 69th edition of the EICMA International Motorcycle Show, which is ongoing until Sunday at Rho Fiera. The Texan centaur, Superbike world champion in 2009, has been among the absolute protagonists of the world championship for two years astride the Yamaha YZR-M1 of the official three-tuning fork team, a few days after the prestigious second place obtained in the Valencia GP, and from the tests in 2012 configuration, he was thus able to embrace the many Italian fans waiting to cheer him on.
After having himself immortalized riding his Yamaha YZR-M1 n° 11 - coincidentally on the 11-11th of 2011 - and the main attractions of the rich 2012 Yamaha range, above all the new Yamaha TMAX, the sports maxiscooter that is the absolute protagonist of EICMA 2011 , the new super sports Yamaha YZF-R1 with 6-level traction control and WGP 50th Anniversary color, Yamaha XTZ1200 Super Ténéré, and Yamaha VMAX, Spies satisfied the many requests for autographs from his fans who flocked to the Yamaha stand for him.
Spies was then also the protagonist of the awards ceremony for the 2011 R Series Cup winners, the Yamaha single-brand championship dedicated to the YZF-R1 and YZF-R6 sports cars, in the large outdoor area of MOTOLIVE which saw him on stage, colored for the blue Racing opportunity, directly riding a brand new TMAX my 2012 and delivering it in person to the winner of the R1 Akrapovic Cup, Ugo Laudati, a driver from Rieti who at the end of the six races scheduled for the season beat the competition of Daniel Brunelli from Verona and Daniel Sanca from Brescia. Also on the MOTOLIVE podium were the protagonists of the championship reserved for the 600 in Iwata, the R6 Metzeler Cup. The winner of the competition and therefore a splendid midnight black Yamaha XJ6 was Andrea Agnelli from Bergamo who preceded the young rider by a few points in the standings of Aprilia Kevin Caloroso and Leonardo Biliotti from Arezzo.
Another welcome guest at the Yamaha stand, Francesco Catanese from Bologna, recently returned from the great undertaking which saw him as protagonist astride a Yamaha XTZ1200R Super Ténéré 1200 at the 2011 Pharaons Rally.
